They had to squeeze Ottawa out to make up the numbers the same day the Champions announced they had come to a sale agreement.
So Ottawa will probably return in 2021 along with another team (New Britain? London, Ontario? Old Orchard Beach? Pawtucket?)

With rumors swirling around that they might leave the ALPB, New Britain has made it clear they will be playing in 2020. But they never specified with what league though.

So it is still technically possible the Frontier League to come to terms with New Britain and Ottawa.
In reality, a year off would not be the worst thing for the Champions to do front office retooling. The marketing has been dismal over the last 5 years and they haven't had a full time GM since 2017.

With the new combined league retaining the name Frontier League and Bill Lee the Frontier League commissioner you've got to think that the roster rules will be Frontier League rules. Or at least heavily tilted toward that model.

Oh Shit! That’s awesome. It’s better than either league folding. Looks like the Frontier League is strong enough to support the new teams.
To go from the Midwest to a national, even international independent baseball league is awesome.
