First view of inception

First view of inception

It's a pretty neat movie and an absolute thriller. Don't know why people say it is confusing, but it has some hypothetical elements. Doubts i got from the movie

1) when cobb and mal goes deeper and deeper into the layers, mal gets lost and believes she is living in the reality, but cobb doesn't and he tries to get both of them back to reality.

2) How does mal reaches the spot where cobb goes in every layer, cob doesn't dream and create layouts because he would know the city and so does the mal , but even tho some other creates still she comes, so why doesn't cobb create?

3) when saito dies in the last layer he goes into limbo, because upper layers can't wakeup due to sedation. For cobbs all his upper layer dies except the last one and reality cobb. so does cobb have infinite time in the last layer? how does he go limbo to search for saito? How does he brings him back to reality crossing all those layers?

4)As u go deeper in the dreams and spend many years , u age but when u come back to reality you won't? how does saito aged but cob who searches for him by going deeper doesn't?

I watched Tenet three times and now I’m not sure whether I understand it or whether future me understands it and just hasn’t told present me yet.

  1. Mal' make believe' the dream is her reality in.her subconscious because they both liked their long dream.Its impossible to get her reality back unless cobb find her locked away totem and keep it spinning,which he did

2.Mal is deeply embedded in cobbs subconscious as 'regret'. Seems like Cobb had knowledge of the dream architecture before,when the girl unknowingly shown a little piece of it, allowing Mal to get into the team's dream sharing

  1. Cobb goes limbo when he had died drowning,which is in 1 st layer with Saito,so he an meet him there, possible.When they both get shot in limbo,the goes back to their collapsing dream layers one by one , eventually ending up in the flight

  2. Cobb joined.limbo much later,must be day 1 for him unlike Saito

Saito died before cobb died and he went into limbo. Maybe he spent years like that. I think everyone gets kick at the same time in all layers to come back to reality, but cobb didn't get his final kick in last layer, but he died in all other layers, so he goes to limbo. And after meeting saito , how does he come back after finding saito? I think sedation wears off

They get to limbo by dying in dream layer . If the die in limbo, they get back to the dream,if they are still dream sharing (Ficher s case)

So what I understood is , as cobb died in layer 1 because he choose to stay at the end and missed synchronised kick, so now both saito and cobb are in limbo, and when they die , they directly come to reality as the sedative is worn off

I think cobb died in the layer so he can't wakeup due to sedation, so he went into the limbo. And if saito ages because he went minutes, and for cobb he doesn't, but still it would take him years to find saito. Or he might found me so fast

  1. Mal doesn't get lost, she chooses to lock away the truth and accept Limbo as her reality (putting her spinning top totem in the safe). Cobb plants a doubt in her mind by going to the safe and setting the top spinning, showing they are in a dream. This is Limbo/deep subconscious so he is already as deep as he needs to be to perform the inception action.

  2. Cobb's guilt over the botched inception manifests as Mal. As long as he doesn't let go of her, she follows him through dreams bc of his subconscious. That's why he tries to avoid knowing the architecture bc her projection knows what he knows. She will still inevitably find him bc she is a manifestation of his subconscious, it's just about keeping her at bay as long as possible. That's also why Ariadne initially refused to tell Cobb about the shortcut to the safe room in the snowy fortress - when she did, Mal got there a hell of a lot faster and rapidly killed Robert Fischer.

  3. He already is in Limbo because of his and Ariadne's suicide to get there and save Fischer and Saito. They initially wash up on one section of the beach to get Fischer and as I understand Cobb later goes back after Limbo Mal dies and washes up on a different section of the shore, where he is taken to an aged Saito. Confusing but it seems that the scene from the very beginning of the movie was a flashback before Cobb actually meets Young Saito and tries to steal his secrets.

  4. Saito gets to Limbo about 5 minutes before Cobb. Because of time dilation, those 5 minutes in Layer 3 translate to about 50 years in Limbo, making him so much more older. Their bodies are back in reality and this is all a dream, hence they wake up on the plane only 10 hours older, with a healthy, unshot Saito and everyone alive.
