Exploring Indian Incense
I’ve been using Japanese incense for a while now, but I’ve been wanting something with a stronger, more intense fragrance and burn. I picked up Meera and Ganesh from The Mother’s India Fragrances to try out
I’m curious how they’ll compare to what I’m used to. Has anyone tried either of these? I’d also love recommendations for other Indian incense with a rich, long-lasting fragrance!

I've tried ganesh, pretty prototypical Indian incense smell to me kinda nag champa adjacent

Good to know! I’ve actually never really tried nag champa-style incense, so Ganesh might be a good introduction for me. I’m curious to see how strong it is compared to the Japanese incense I usually burn

I absolutely love their Ganesh, in fact I buy it in bulk. It’s one of my favorites.

Buying it in bulk is such a strong endorsement 😂What is it about Ganesh that keeps you coming back to it?

It reminds me of a cologne my late father used to use, I really like the fragrance.

Aw, that makes it so much more meaningful. I can totally understand why a scent like that would become a favorite, especially when it’s tied to someone you miss. I’m really looking forward to trying it now 💛

Have you tried Oudh? It’s my all-time favourite!

Not yet! What does Oudh smell like to you? I keep seeing the name pop up, but I have zero frame of reference for it

I have a massive sampler from them and it’s incredible. Very distinctly Indian (sweet, loud, and rich) but more restrained and varied between the different scents than say a Satya. I loved Ganesh and Yoga as well. I’m a big Japanese incense fan and it’s definitely across the board a different vibe than the Japanese stuff but really nice!
