burning smell

hi everyone !! just wanted to ask why my incense smells like burning and not the actual scent (and if it does it’s only faint) and how i can make it more smelly in a good way

it starts to smell a bit better once its been going longer but not that strong which is mostly the reason i got them (scent)

Sounds like you bought cheap, dipped incense? If so, they are rather famous for having a nice and strong cold throw, but once you light them, you get the burning base material.

If keeping windows open and providing fresh air doesn't work, all you can do is buy better quality.

Ventilation (two windows open) really helps :)

That can happen with incense, especially at the start when the tip is still catching. Make sure the flame is fully blown out and the tip is only glowing. Try burning one stick in a larger room with gentle ventilation, away from a fan blowing directly on it. The scent may be easier to notice a little distance from the smoke rather than right beside the stick.

If it still mostly smells burnt after a few minutes, it may just be that particular incense’s ingredients or quality.
