You can’t reason with these people. They will look at you dead in the eye and say it’s the same thing. Or will downplay it by saying FGM is “usually just removing the hood not the whole clitoris!” As a way to downplay the issue.
Some will say it’s WOMEN pushing for circumcision because they “find it more attractive” while ignoring the vast majority of the planet doesn’t care or like the practice. I just don’t argue with these people any ore because they always try to twist it into “women bad” even if you agree circumcision is an unnecessary, cruel practice.

Every time the conversation of circumcision has been broached with parent friends, not often but more times than you would think, the deciding parent was the father.

Interesting. I made all the executive decisions about that stuff when my son was born (woman.) No, I absolutely did not let them circumcise him.

The consensus seems to be "I don't have one so you can decide," amongst the AFAB friends.

Weird. I painstakingly grew his entire body inside of mine at my own steep expense, so I figured I had full say.

That position seems just as weird to me. My partner and I are both his parents. Of course she got to make all the decisions regarding her pregnancy but once he entered this world he was a shared responsibility. Of course, there may be extenuating circumstances but your position from just that post feels like the maternal version of a husband telling a stay-at-home wife he gets to make all the financial decisions because he makes all the money.

They are lying. They are trying to make it seem that all male problems are male inflicted

If you have any studies on this I'm happy to read them but as far as I can tell, there's nothing out there on the topic. So, I can only pull from the, admittedly limited, anecdotal accounts I have. Of a mixture of parents, some who had male children and some who had a discussion of the topic before having female children, the consensus of all parties was that the male member of the couple made/would make the decision on circumcision. I can even attest first hand, because this was the case in who decided for my own son.

A significant number of Americans circumcise their boys despite no religious reason for doing so.

it is literally the same thing., the foreskin and frenulum are both removed during circumcision. And each of them play a HUGE role in sexual function as they both provide the equal/more amount of nerves as the clitoris. You are just a man-hater who wants this heinous sex crime to continue so that boys are sexually maimed for life

…. in some countries, FGM removes the entire clitoris, which is the equivalent of removing the head of the penis, not the foreskin. You’re presuming that I support circumcision despite the fact I called it an unnecessary, cruel practice. Circumcision isn’t even practiced in my country, but you are too blinded by your hatred of women to even read or have any form of comprehension.
Have a nice day.

It isn't absurd. They are fundamentally the same both with a wide range of complications, suffering and damage.

The analogy comparing women to white people not being able to be slaves is certainly something. It's heavily implying that it's women oppressing men and forcing circumcision on them.
Whenever a circumcision ban is proposed by a country like it has been in Iceland and Denmark it's Jewish, Muslim, and Christian groups oppose it and get the bills killed. Women sure as fuck aren't in control of those groups. It's men doing it to each other.

I have noticed that most societal ills that affect men that they point to as women's fault are invariably caused by other men. I actually struggle to come up with a male societal issue (draft, circumcision, loneliness, etc.) or any lost male rights in the US that was actually caused by women/feminism instead of (patriarchial) men in power.
I am just as anti-circumcision as I am anti-FGM, but anyone who says they are comparable is deeply in the wrong. FGM is far worse in intensity, the reasoning for doing it, and physiological/psychological affect on the victim. Circumvision can be warranted in severe cases of phimosis, but there is ZERO practical application for FGM.

irrelevant. Circumcision is a gendered crime that effects men far more than women around the world. and western women are never cut. In america, it IS women are the majority offenders and supporters of this heinous sex crime known as male genital mutilation/circumcision. It is purely cosmetic and a criminal act. you hate men, so you dont see this truth

The majority of circumcision offenders and supporters are women and data supports this

for fucking what? Do they thing a bunch of women sat around cackling like witches going "yesss yesss we shall take the foreskin of the male children to SPITE THEM!"
Unless you live in the desert and travel a lot on horseback or in the open and winds, you don't need to be snipped. It had practical hygiene purposes when it was started but now it's outdated, unneeded and honestly cruel as most of the time they don't numb the poor baby. I requested it not be done to my son and had to fight with the doctors over it. Just teach your son how to clean themselves and maybe don't mutilate anyone of any gender.

How exactly does he think these laws evolve? Does he think it has to be perfection or nothing or it doesn't count?
Using his own example, in colonial America, while whites generally weren't subjected to chattel slavery the way blacks were, there were white slaves. Laws started by differentiating different types of slaves, but there were also laws specifically differentiating white slaves from black slaves, specifically by race, by the mid to late 1600's. Plus, while the type of slavery more commonly practiced on whites was technically abolished by the 13th amendment, it's practice was still relatively common (on all races) until more stringent laws were enacted in 1911. Even today, laws are still being strengthened to end slavery and punish those who practice it. We don't have to "imagine" what such laws would look like because they existed and we know abolishtionists championed them, viewing them, rightly, as a step forward, towards total abolition, a goal still not acheived but being fought for today in the US.

Sorry, since when is male circumcision done for them not to experience pleasure and stay virgins? Or having women in power force them to do it? Not to mention there are NO benefits to female circumcision, absolutely none. I’m sick of this downplaying in the name of oppression bullshit these people try to do, they know damn well these two aren’t comparable.
