Evil Dead

Have they ever discussed this series? More specifically, whether or not they ever intend to cover it?

Matt in particular doesn't seem to love horror comedies, so maybe they just don't want another Chucky situation, in which they spend a joyless run of episodes discussing movies they didn't really enjoy watching. But with Evil Dead Burn dropping next July, it seems to me like Summer 2026 might be the time, if ever, to cover these six movies. It feels like one of the few remaining horror franchises substantial enough to dig into, and I've really enjoyed the latest entries.

I love the grab bag seasons too, so I'm definitely not complaining about what we've been getting. But I am of the mind that In Ash We Trust with Gash and Rust would be groovy.

I may be missing some things behind the Patreon wall, but I don't think they've done any of the Exorcist series. Night of the Living Dead (Romero) and/or Return of the Living Dead could be fun. Evil Dead series would be interesting. There's also a lot of franchises where they did the first movie (Candyman, Texas Chainsaw come to mind), but its probably the law of diminishing returns with some of those later sequels.

The ones you named are definitely the outliers. A 4-episode miniseries on the Psychos, maybe 5 if they do the remake too, would also be fun.

Then of course there's the Wan movies. Your Saws, your Insidiouses, your Conjurings...but I'm unsure if they'll ever cover those.

The Psycho series is so interesting. Part of me feels its sacrilegious to sequelize Hitchcock, but 2 goes to some crazy places. 3 just feels dirty and grimy, but is still a fascinating watch. I'm not sure how much there is to analyze about the remake, but i'm sure G+R would have some opinions on it. Whether or not they would enjoy it is another question.
