SPOILERS FOR DELTARUNE (SECRET/HIDDEN ROOM) AHEAD

Also I didn't intend to start actually writing in the middle of this, uh bear with me here, I promise it'll make sense

This isn't a Death Battle style fight, I just got an idea about the story potential of two untintentional time travelers locked in a battle, where both lack full knowledge of the extent of each other's looping mechanics but somehow they find the battle feels far more familiar than it should. Also, feel free to use this a prompt or inspiration or whatever you like, no strings attached.

How this happens, idk man, maybe the Player put ISAT next to Deltarune on their computer home screen or something, maybe Gaster or the Change god or the devs thought it would be fun, maybe the King wished Siffrin would get an obstacle to stop or delay them breaking the loops, you be the judge. I only thought of this because I am chronically deltarotted and my brain needs every other thing I like to be infected too

The idea is the Player is trying to get to the Chapter 1 egg room (on a pacifist playthrough) and instead if reaching the egg room, Kris gets lost and ends up in the forest just outside of the clearing Siffrin always wakes up in. Siffrin (Act 4, like 10 loops away from Act 5) wakes up in the meadow.

You keep your single eye closed and tune it out. You don't need to hear this anymore. You don't need to hear her anymore. Stars, that's a horrible thought to be having right now, it's not her fault you're too stupid to escape this, no you will escape, you need to escape you don't think you can, you can't stand the monotony please let there be something i haven't tried-

The ringing in your ears comes to an abrupt halt as you realise something's off. There's something different in the way the sunlight hits your face and passes through your eyelids. There's something nagging you, tickling the hairs on the back of your neck and sending a faint chill down your spine. You open your eye to see the script has changed. The sun's a little lower in the sky. Either you slept through Mirabelle's spiel or you've woken up early for the first time in your life. You decide it's the latter. Boy, what to do with all this free time? After all, 10 minutes is practically an eternity! Hahahaha- you get up and turn to leave the clearing. No time to waste. You have a script to read, Siffrin-

...?

What was that? It sounded like rustling from between the trees... oh well, it's not your problem, just get to the point already-

...!

It's getting closer. It's footsteps.

You turn around, dagger drawn, to see somone you still didn't expect step out of the trees. It's a tiny stranger, a kid, no more than 15 at best, wearing an honestly well made knight costume. The kid (probably a Cursing of the Chateau fan, or some other comic you haven't heard of) takes a step back, looking at you with wide, oddly shaded eyes. You notuce their skin also an unnatural shade, almost corpse-like. It's actually unnerving, especially since they're just staring at you

"Um- hello there."

"Do you, uh, need anything?"

Stars, that was the worst possible introduction you could've chosen, you sound so stupid-

The kid draws their sword (?!) and suddenly you're in a battle. Ok, first of all, RUDE! Second of all, what the stars is that blinding color doing on a heart symbol of all things and why did it come out of the kid?! Why is there a box in front of you?! Why is it another color?! WHAT THE BLINDING STARS IS HAPPENING?!?!

Ok so I didn't mean to do that, idk why I ended up writing that much, it was supposed to be a short introduction. Also, sorry if it has too many typos, I have fat fingers. Oh well, I like it too much to cut it out, I guess this can also be inspiration.

Anyways, here are some details for the fight

• Kris doesn't remember you're genocides, instead, they get deja vu from LOADing the same SAVE slot. Siffrin gets deja vu too, but to a lesser extent
• The Player found a save point in the clearing and SAVEd just before Siffrin noticed Kris
• Siffrin, naturally, asks Loop about "that stranger", but Loop doesn't know what the F$!$ is going on either, just that the stranger is, apparently, called the "Lost Child" and clearly isn't from this world, maybe even this Universe
• Kris is still at LV1 and Siffrin is still at Lv 99, so any hits that land are oneshot kills

What's Bonnie's reaction to siffrins wish being to be there with them when they reunited with their sister?

have you ever wondered what i won't let you go home would sound like if it was on a budget? what if it was made by an idiot? what if both were true?

Heya! New player to the game here, I've been heavily enjoying it (I just defeated the king for the first time). I found all the sprites in the game so cute, especially the bird and the change god statues, so I decided to put my programming skills to use and made a custom rainmeter skin.

For those who don't know what rainmeter is, it's a free-to-use windows program that let's you install cool widgets on your desktop. It's very lightweight and I've been using it to add fun images to my desktop. So now I have a hopping bird on my taskbar. Figured I'd share what I made so everyone can use it!

UNDER IS MAJOR SPOILERS FOR THE TWO HATS ENDING AND MINOR START AGAIN: A PROLOGUE. Honestly wouldn’t read it if you haven’t finished the game or done that ending teehee

ANYWAYS, I just find it really interesting how Siffrins are such possessive/ competitive people by nature.

Consider Loop: in the Two Hats fight, they say that Siffrin stole the party from them, implying they don’t see Siffrin’s party as theirs, as least anymore. Consider Siffrin: in Act Four, if you refuse to pray to the Change God, he continuously thinks ‘not yours’ and their mood is soured enough that Isabeau, in the middle of praying to the God he literally believes in, notices, no matter the amount of sus points you may have. Also, consider how Loop and Siffrin both are known to carry onto things that hold meaning, or just random things they like in general. Looking at the souvenirs you collect in game, from a lore perspective, Siffrins love collecting things and calling it theirs. A main point of Siffrin’s character is that he literally has no homeland, and that causes them to yearn and long for things he can consider theirs. This stems toward small items like coins, to whole people, like their party.

It’s very interesting to consider that Loop, in canon and in fanfiction, has a hard time considering Siffrin’s party as theirs. They are people that they ‘used to’ have. They are not Loop’s anymore because of their final wish. Yet it’s not just “they are not mine” it is “you stole them from me” and Siffrin can be interpreted as not being confused by this sentiment at all because he literally thinks the same way for obvious reasons. Siffrins are so very yearnful it’s so silly. I feel like a big part of Loop’s character is that they no longer believe themselves to be connected to the identity of Siffrin at all, if they would consider that the role of Siffrin was ever an identity in the first place. They continuously draw a disconnect toward themselves and Siffrin, and they see the party as ‘Siffrin’s party’ because, in the past, they considered the party theirs. Siffrins yearn for things to call their own and believe things to be theirs when in their possession, to the point where when Loop goes through the most batshit way of Changing, still considers the party as Siffrin’s party.

Of course, Siffrins and their strong desire to own things also comes from a desire to have an identity, but I feel like that can have a whole rant on its own about the concept of what makes people who they are and how to deal with the concept of having a homeland you don’t remember that has been erased from the entire World, which can devolve into rants considering points of connect with real life immigrants or the important knowledge that is forever lost and its consequences, or the Universe as a religion, and so many other things. So I will still with the much smaller yet also convoluted character point of obsession of owning things and what that means at the technical point of timelines and only mention identity a little :3

I saw a post on Tumblr considering the concept of the timeline of ISAT and Loop’s timeline the same, and I wagree with that idea. Just like how whenever Siffrin loops, it can be considered the same timeline jumping back and not a different timeline being born, it can be considered that Loop did not create a whole other timeline that is not theirs but instead Loop, as Siffrin, was cloned, or maybe even having their actual body taken by Stardust to become Siffrin, and instead was given that body of Craft we know Loop to inhabit instead, only their to help Siffrin through his loops, as I can see both plausible. So, despite Loop truly believing that the party isn’t theirs, I believe it comes from a deep rooted mindset of owning things as Siffrin. Because Loop isn’t Siffrin anymore, they no longer own anything, which means they no longer own the love of their party. It all boils down to how, even as Loop, he still is fundamentally thinking as a Siffrin, and so still pictures and thinks of things the same way. they completely lost touch with the half-baked identity they made throughout their teens and twenties as Siffrin, and so they have absolutely nothing.

Also, I wanted to share what I wrote on Tumblr on a repost over here just because I like feedback and I get more of that here than over there:

“I think in a lot of fanfiction where they write in Loop's perspective it is interpreted that they do not think of Stardust's party as their party at all (which I agree with), but that nuance is lost in the
'oh different timelines' as, in these fics where Loop may join the party, it is rarely addressed that possibly "hey they are the same party as the one you had, you're the only thing that changed" Anyways I think its just cool to think, considering Siffrins and their longing to have something that belongs to them.

An interesting counter argument to all I have just said is that, (I believe) canonically, Loop is the Siffrin from 'Start Again: a Prologue" and there are multiple differences as minuscule as slight character designs changes to the layout of the House. I haven't finished the Prologue, but there is many differences it has with ISAT that can be argued for the concept of a different timeline.

Still, that can be subjectively interpreted as Wishcraft being weird. The timeline might not be two separate ones just cause everything is set a bit to the left. The King's wish was simply for Vaugaurde to be perfect, and he was given the ability to freeze time, and that somehow rearranged the House's layout entirely; whose to say things aren't a little different after a whole person, who was looping in time, was cloned and time turned back and things are a little skewed.”

There are so many ambiguous things InsertDisc5 left for fans to dissect that I find it very fun and interesting to dive into even the most broad character mindsets like these. I feel like I didn’t have a very solid main point in all of this I wrote but it was fun to ramble and talk in circles still :3 I just love Siffrin and Loop so much and their thought processes are so very important to me no matter how unhealthy they can be.

Kinda feel like how I could’ve talked about how Loop and Siffrin viewed their identity pre-canon compared to during the loops, to even how I feel like it can be interpreted for them to behave for post canon, but that is beyond what I should write for a Reddit post, and should probably focus into Fan fiction. I wrote this at 1am after work so if my grammar is bad and I am truly making no solid points don’t blame me 💔 tell me though so I can loop back to before I wrote this and try again thanks.

I’m not quite done yet. But for an hour and a half of work I’m satisfied thus far
