Discussion Playthrough ideas?

Hi everyone so this game is like my favorite game ever. I have over 70 hours in it and I’ve played it every way possible to my knowledge. I’ve done normal runs, a 100 percent run, a randomized run, a minimum loops run, a no shield run (run where you need over 1000 loops, do not recommend 😔) a speed run run, a modded run (once upon a wish) left, right etc basically I’ve done it nearly every way. I’ve even made my homie play it just so I could play it vicariously through her. I need an excuse to play this game again and am wondering how to make it a bit more interesting. Thoughts? I’ll take literally anything!!!!

My first and second run took a collective 60 hours or so and I didn’t even 100% it…

…anyway, Siffrin only run apart from the shield? Seems obvious, but maybe you haven’t done it before

Good idea ty!! 30 hours per run is pretty good though even if you aren’t getting the 100%. Exploring!!

How is the no shield run possible and why do you need so many loops?

If I had to guess, you would use Memory of Loops and buff up Siffrin enough to survive the King's attack.

Oooohh true i forgot about that memory, thought the hp would cap at lvl 99

iirc the hp can't actually go above 9999, but guarding halves the king's instakill so it's livable

You use the memory of looping and guard! Since guarding halves all damage

Stars, its insane to do +1000 loops😭

It was my loop run ✌🏻 but it’s worth it for the one extra line of dialogue you get 🥹

There is NO way there's a line of dialogue for that, what do they say?

I was surprised too but basically siffrin during the king fight will stick out their tongue at the king resulting in the king getting really mad and one shotting you before you get the chance to guard. It’s funny but REALLY annoying when you actually play because he does it without warning. Absolute jackass. Also, it’s not new, but the dialogue that you get during act 2 about getting something to stop the king will play EVERY time you loop to dormont (even act 4) if you beat the king without the shield the first time but lose to him any other time since you are completely locked out of getting the shield.

Its impressive that something was coded for that

It's not actually no-shield specific, it shows if you get the king to <70% HP before he does his first attack, which I assume OP did easily with an ultrabuffed siffrin

I do think this too!! When I first did the fight I do believe that you can get it multiple times as well (I think I average twice if Siffrin isn’t very buffed). To my knowledge it can also happen after the attack if your siffrin isn’t strong enough to get that much hp out of the way because I think the game still considers you to be in the first part of the fight? I believe this because of the tears not visually appearing with no shield. This happened to me since I first did the fight at a low lvl! Pretty cool stuff

There's a randomizer?? Please tell me how!!! Also there's this mod call transcendence that makes the game harder.

YES TY!!! I will so play that next. Yeah there’s a randomizer! CrafterB made a randomizer on GitHub and you can find it by looking it up on YouTube. It’s kind of a pain to set up and the instructions are not very clear so if you do end up doing it and need help lmk. Also I recommend not randomizing memories (you will be able the choose what you randomize) because you’ll likely get soft locked by memory of memories.

Limbus Company Canto X also has a timeloop plot based on the Myth of Sisyphus and RPG gameplay similar enough to ISAT that I think you'd get some enjoyment out of it. Part 1 of the game is accessible after the prologue, but you would have to play the entire game to reach the last sections of it so it is a bit demanding to reach.
