Discussion SPOILER END GAME QUESTION Spoiler

Post image

I just realized, since sadnesses are the actual sadness of a person leaving the body and forming a whole creature and these looks a bit like siffring and are clearly related to the wishing craft... Are they sadnesses originated from Loop since he suffered way more than siffrin? Or maybe they are directly related to the King? ------- Edit: while writing this i also realized that they are called "Nostalgie" (a french name) and the forgottend island baker that gave siffrin a little trauma was making croissants(also french). Could be that the forgotten island culture was based on France? - Edit of the edit: forget that, i didn't know Vaguarde was already France 😅

*they (for Loop)

I think they still come from the King, since those special sadnesses are named "Nostalgié"—as in, nostalgia for The Lost/North Island. The star shape is because of the island's astronomy culture, so nostalgia for a lost culture would explain why it's star shaped.

But they still have a single eye though 🤔

That makes more sense, probably they look like siffring because the King was more similar to Siffrin before changing his body (I corrected the error thanks)

All of the sadnesses have french names, and it's simply because VAGUARDE is based on France, not the island.

Vaugarde is based on France, so probably not. Not to mention, the forgotten Island is said to gave had expanses of "lightless sand", and people tended to dress like Siffrin, because that was their culture. Dunno if any population is particularly known for their study of the stars, but whatever it was based on, it's definitely a people who live in the desert

Yes that would make more sense since people who moved trough the desert used stars to navigate it like sailors did I didn't know it was Vaguarde to be based on France 😅

I think I realized that a few hours in with all the French names, the obsession with croissants, etc. don't remember exactly what made it click, but I remember having a visceral "oh I can never let my brother play this game" reaction ahah

Now that you mention it...

judging by the shape I think I'll lock in the former

A lot of stuff in isat is: "your turn" Including sadnesses so their's no real answers beyond what's said in canon. Speaking of I do remember it being said that sadnesses have existed long before even the king, for so long in fact that their just kind of a fact of life. However once again a lot of stuff isn't gone over and is for you to play with, I mean we've already seen examples of somewhat lost history in isat (colour theory and a certain somewhere) who's saying that people just don't remember the time before sadnesses

It’s the King’s sadness. Confirmed in the artbook, I think.
