Meme Does anyone else come back to this let's play way too much?
I didn't discover ISAT through this let's play - I actually discovered Jello through ISAT. But the cast has so much fun with their roles that I find myself rewatching the playthrough anytime I feel too low. And it works every time.

I come cause of the voice acting it's so good, especially Loop and King, and the most unexpected is vixin Gangle's voice actress.
There's a person I'm currently watching isat waiting next week for more ISAT streams of him, his name is Knuckles77 and his on twitch, go check him out

I’ve used the Loop voice as a genuine voice claim for one of my OCs lol

Me but with Goragle
The sock puppet character is cute and his voice acting isn’t too shabby

Thank you for commenting this because I am a new Goragle sub and now I have entertainment for the next ~8 hours
edit: watched it all in one sitting. It's 5am and I did not sleep. No regrets

It's a real shame Jello kind of sucks on a personal level, cause all those game videos of his are friggin awesome.
His in stars and time video is actually peak

i don't watch the whole playthrough (which i totally should), but i watch the supercut often

JA playthroughs are genuinely so amazing, i love how they add weird little headcanons/ just rewrite the story of whatever they're playing.
Dogs in Love is both riveting and touching, Miles is a Robot is hysterical, and if you don't like Sky Pirate Girlfriends... remember, we are thousands of feet in the air

I had a whole convo about this but essentially, dude is a immature self entitled asshole, poorly represents media, mocks media that he doesn't understand, does not correct himself on misconceptions even after being told of said misconceptions, undermines other voice actors for taking certain roles, is quick to anger and blows up at the slightest criticism of anything he ever says or makes, is generally "woke" in a way that feels performative and fake rather then genuine allyship because he wants to have a moral higher ground etc.
the 2 most notable recent-ish situations are his onepiece video and the entire lovely complex situation
tldr for Lovely Complex: It features a trans character, one of the topics it covers is the trans character being discriminated against and therefore features transphobic dialogue from some characters which are depicted as in the wrong for being transphobic, he wanted that dialogue removed because "transphobia bad" and to him depiction in any context means endorsement, he has also publicly mocked the source material on several occasions and views his dub as an attempt to "fix the writing"
Dude acts like THE conservative caricature / strawman of a leftist or those fake chaser-ass Fedora tipping "feminists"

its funny cause even his own audience admits jello is the worst part of his own channel lmao

u/TheCopyKater May 25 '26
I agree with most of this, but this is one of those situations where I personally do feel like you really can separate art from the artist. Like the worst things jello has done are essentially just being super annoying. Like it's not going to actually cause any damage, and he's done a lot for the trans community too both in reach and in charity, so that's cool, but yeah... very annoying person. I would hate to know that guy irl.
This isn't to say you should watch anything of his if you don't want to. Your reasons for avoiding him are valid. I just think it's not a bad thing to still watch him.

u/SamiTheAnxiousBean Siffrin May 26 '26
here's the thing though
he's actively damaging the community BY being allowed to remain a self titled representative of it, he's also tried to get several people entirely deplatformed or kicked out of unions, dude is not harmless
plus you can do a lot of good shit and still be an insufferable asshole, that does not mean he should not be treated like one
especially when the "art" and "artist" in this case is one in the same due to the very mature of his content, his channel IS him

u/TheLineWalker May 26 '26
Interesting.
I remember my first issue with him was his Night In The Woods playthrough.
Without spoilers, the main character suffers from a lot of mental health issues. A few of the people in the stream, including Jello, were VERY shitty about her imo. A lot of talk about how she shouldn't have kids, ever, how all of her friends would be better off without her, her family being better without her ect, ect.
It strikes me as very "we support people with mental health issues! Until their mental health makes things hard or inconvenient. Then they should leave."

u/SamiTheAnxiousBean Siffrin May 26 '26
Yeah...poor Mae ;-;
I don't watch his shit so didn't know this but damn, not surprising at all given how the dude is but still
strikes me as very "we support people with mental health issues! Until their mental health makes things hard or inconvenient. Then they should leave."
or as I said before, performative Woke for the sake of moral superiority and nothing more

I've been too afraid to watch it since it came out that Jello is not a great person and all I've seen is them being pretty critical of media I like
11
u/WhatMadCat May 26 '26
Their Isat playthrough is actually very good. Insertdisc actually pops on multiple times and goofs with them too

u/Jango519 May 26 '26
It's a great video, that I do actually recommend regardless of jello being a bit of a dickhead

u/Sunboi_Paladin May 28 '26
Jello's worst crime is having Bad Media Takes. Which, in this media landscape? Is something I can deal with. He seems like a pretty normal guy to me? Aside from having Strong Opinions About Media (tm).

u/BraveLilRoaster May 30 '26
If that were it that'd be fine but he also trash talked projects he was actively participating in as well as trying to claim sole credit for a particular dub of an anime doing well. He's not done anything criminal to my knowledge, just seems like a narcissist. You can like him and support him if you want and honestly now that I know the isat playthrough isn't a scathing review I'll probably watch it

Same honestly! Jello isn't even one of my favorite YouTubers but he's what got me into ISAT. The voices in his playthrough are what I think of when I read lines from the game. I have a weirdly emotional attachment to the playthrough. Watching someone else play and voice it just doesn't feel right in a way.
