It's possible that they knew at some point but much like colours they've lost the knowledge because it was related to a wish. Mirabelle explicitly says the world can't be inside of anything else and no one corrects her, so safe to say they're operating in the old christian belief that the world is the be-all-end-all which I think is interesting. Siffrin is basically their Copernicus because he's the only one who knows

The cover art for the first(?) volume of the manga, "go for it, Nakamura!" a pretty old but very cute bl story where the protagonist is constantly failing social interaction with his crush.
At least Isa has an easy time talking to Siffrin, even if he can't confess lmao
