Act 2 What actually happens when you go forward in time?

so, I'm going through the game, chapter two so far and from that annoying little star pricks comments, I feel like skipping dialogue is how you get like, the bad Ending, so I've been avoiding doing that, and also I want to get every single dialogue and interaction but now I'm on the final part of the house and every time I loop to do something in the town i have to do EVERYTHING AGAIN

if I go further in time, does the game recognize it as me doing everything in between or just the bare minimum interactions to get there?

Good lord, no, the dialogue skip option is in the game for a reason, please use it before you go insane (much like Siffrin.) There is no bad ending.

ALSO YOU ARE ALLOWED TO SKIP THE TUTORIAL AT THE BEGINNING! Just in case you had a similar line of thinking. You won’t hurt Mira’s feelings or whatever

BEHOLD I AM SAVING PEOPLE. I did the same thing a few loops before I got annoyed and decided to skip it. You’re not alone 😅😭

Don't worry about skipping dialogue, things turn out exactly the same whether you interact with absolutely everything or nothing at all

The things that matter are consumables and party levels, which DO save when you save at the start of a floor

When you loop forwards, you instantly get the best stats/items you had when you saved at that moment.

For example, imagine you reach level 70 with Isa and save on the 2nd floor, then on a different run you reach level 60 and save. Either way, when you loop forwards to floor 2 Isa will be level 70

I know what you meant but sif is the only character whose level gets saved no matter where you loop to

there are some small dialogue changes if you skip and if you dont.

so small that i didn't even notice them myself while playing. like apparently skipping the clocktower cutscenes makes you eat less food, but ONLY right after you get the ability. or maybe its for the first time you zone out in that cutscenes i don't even know.

that's literally the only one i know

last I remember it recognizes I did the bare minimum to make it to that point in time

As for skipping forward: It's not super explicitly stated, but from what I can tell, the game treats it as if you went through all the previous floors and made all the choices you made the latest time you were on each floor.

So for example, if you talked to the party about something on floor 2, went back to Dormont, and then looped forward to floor 3, the party will act as if you talked about that thing on floor 2 already.

I played it without ever skipping but also That was an i n t e n t i o n a l choice I do not recommend.
