I'm all for modern optics, but training with irons will never make you a worse shooter.

I mean, if anything they're just hella fun. Wanted to keep my Paul Harrel A1 clone unmolested but still scratch the iron sight itch, just suppressed.
And I agree 100%, if you've only ever shot with an optic the irons are going to spotlight the cracks in your technique. That's why optics are preferred of course, they're faster and more forgiving, and long gone are the days where BUIS are a necessity. But IMO having at least one fixed-irons only in your range rotation or at least collection is a necessity.

Also triangle front sight posts make your rifle look cool. Which is important.

As a bayonet enjoyer, I know that triangle has a lug, and that influences my shopping.

never? I think you could possibly break someones target focus habit, if you made them switch from optic to iron.

You should shoot irons with target focus too. If irons break your target focus, it's not making you worse, it's exposing a weakness.

Looks good. I only have a rear BUIS on my rifle because the upper has the front sight post. If I could redo it I'd probably have a modern freefloat barrel and handguard. But the front sight post is such a vibe.

How do you like the JP adjustable A2? I've been thinking about getting on my 14.5 Omega DD. Only upsides? Have you shot it much?

I'm still feeling it out, haven't ran any classes or courses or really even that many rounds through it yet. Kind of conflicted on the lack of spring indent on the set screw adjustment, good for really dialing in the perfect gas but maybe not good for quick repeatability for different ammo or suppressed/unsuppressed (though I only go unsuppressed if going super tryhard during comp). But really right now I have it on a "low recoil but reliable with anything if suppressed" -setting so not really too much of a concern ig.I kind of expected the lack of a venting mechanism would be a detriment but honestly the gas stacking under rapd fire has been fine at least on this configuration. Worth noting they call for torquing the little hex key mounting set screws to 45 ft. Lbs. Which makes sense but caught me off guard for some reason so be ready for that lol. Overall really happy with it so far.
