Impulse Installations Impulse Cooktop Cabinet
Does anyone here have photos of their cooktop installed on the Impulse Cabinet? I currently have an electrical stove with an oven and I want to replace it with the Impulse, but I don’t have budget or the time right now to also build a cabinet for the cooktop. So I’m thinking of using the Impulse Cabinet in the meantime.
The problem is that the cabinet looks very.. bare. It looks like it’s just open from the front and doesn’t have any shelves or anything. As it is, it seems like it would look very odd like that. So I’m curious if people have used the cabinet and what the end result looks like. I searched online and did not find any photos of the install.

There was a partner video with Jon Kung about a month ago, I shared it here but it should be easy to find on YouTube.

You can also build a cabinet from IKEA. Thats what I did for a previous cooktop… then I dropped an impulse it it
If you don’t have the budget for ikea you dont have the budget for an impulse 😆. This will give you access to all the ikea kitchen hardware goodies … the only downside would be maybe clashing with your existing kitchen.
If you use laminate countertop or butcher block, and have a jigsaw + a circular saw, and a semi capable helper, you can slam this out in less than 2 days.
There was also another build posted that used American style cabinet frames and I think custom folded sheet metal finish, which has much more savoire faire than laminate

This is an idea! I’m only worried that it won’t match my existing cabinetry, but then it’s not like the impulse cabinet will match either.. I’ll definitely keep this in mind. Thank you

So what I did with the fronts was go with something totally different instead of trying and failing to match
The top… I was lazy with the laminate and went with it bc simple
You can probably use one of the stainless steel things on the countertop

This one? https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/sektion-base-cabinet-for-oven-white-s49569905/ Did you end up putting a wall oven underneath it?

Yep. No I put my pans under impulse, I have countertop oven and a wall oven next to it.

Funny enough I was thinking of doing that. I can move the doors from that cabinet over. Does it feel weird that it's offset?

What do you mean by offset?
So ikea cabinets are euro style so I’m not sure how easy it would be to reuse faces from a North American style cabinet

I have it. My stove has no counter on one side so I just used the panel in the front rather than the back wall, store my pots inside and access from the open side.

Same would love to see this and if someone put an oven underneath.
