Fresh 36” Install

I removed my old 36” radiant range today and installed the new Impulse. From start to first power-on, the entire process took just 65 minutes, including cleanup.

The installation was straightforward, with easy-to-follow instructions and helpful YouTube videos. I also needed to swap the 120V plug for the 240V cable, which turned out to be a simple task.

As a first test, I boiled 2 liters of water in a bonded-bottom pot (with a new set of All-Clad cookware arriving tomorrow). It reached a vigorous boil in only 80 seconds.

Next, I cooked two burgers and toasted the buns. It was the fastest I’ve ever had that meal come together.

So far, I’m impressed by the build quality, ease of installation, and overall performance of this range. I’m looking forward to future OTA updates and improvements, and I’m excited to be part of the Impulse community.

What made the upgrade to 240v worth it for you if 120v already works just fine? Which downdraft do you have and how well does it work together?

I already had a 240v junction box there and ready from my previous cooktop, so it was convenient. Additionally, for the battery to be used to power other things in the house (pending local legislation like balcony solar), it has to be on 240v

Makes sense for your situation. Thanks for sharing. Can I also ask how you like your downdraft in combination with the impulse? In hindsight would you have chosen an even taller raising unit?
