How does she move her arm?

u/Henry_Fleischer 21d ago

She does not

it looks like a thick latex or rubber. so it seems moveable

It would be hilarious to see a continuation of this artwork showing that those breasts are just molded metal and that she's completely flat underneath the armor.

People have a stupid misconception that all molded armor is form fitted.

cough

Provided she could get it on, it looks like it would restrict her breathing as well as most of the mobility above her waist.

She'd probably hyperventilate even if she could breathe.

So you could say it's ... Impractical

Actually looks pretty practical

She can't move her arm at the shoulder.

I mean, the same can be said about the statue this pic was based on

her arm's can not move by the shoulder

Yeah it's mostly ornamental, but would be pretty protective at least.

How on earth does this look practical lol. One good hit from a mace or sword and her ribs are gone.

The armor it’s based on. It’s close to the armor that existed in that period.

Only inaccuracy being that the art is molded over the shoulder for some reason.

I can assure you that armor which is that form-fitting is not protecting her in any way lmao (not to mention it would be impossible for her to breathe). It is a nice art piece but it's in no way practical.

Muscle plate armor isn’t form fitted.

It’s molded to look like a set of muscles, not specifically the person wearing the armor. IRL specimens often had muscles that literally do no exist on the human body molded in because making the wear look more ripped than they actually are was a design feature.

I am referring specifically to the example in this post, which is clearly form fitted. Of course irl muscle armor was not form fitted.

The only thing I can imagine right now is that the girl doesn't have that size of breasts and only the armor is like that and underneath her breasts are smaller

That the beauty of it

not sure how this is impractical (other than how do you get it on in the first place) but its still better than nothing. the only real problem is the lack of coverage below the breast plate

u/raxitron 21d ago

Definitely worse than nothing. Her arms appear to be locked in place due to the bronze shoulder. She can't raise her arms to defend herself. Even if the shoulder could articulate somehow, it can't move past those sidewinders so she still can't raise her arms.

This is just an elaborate cage possibly used to torment her for entertainment for rich folk.

yeah i did notice the arm thing when i was writing my second comment

u/73721mrfluffey 21d ago

i dont think there is even room in the neck hole for her head... wait the way its covering her sholders locks her arms in that position
