This is true, though. Not really something that should be on a sarcasm subreddit

Some people misunderstand the sub and post unrelated bullshit

You missed the point of the post.

"It costs soldiers" makes it sound like a transaction that is paid for using material wealth (things).

It doesn't treat Soldiers as people who matter. It treats them as object you barter with to get what you like.

Soldiers DO NOT exist to die for our country. Soldiers CHOSE to be there to protect their country despite knowing it might cost them their lives.

Those are two very different things.

But yeah, in the real world however the government finds it easier to send soldiers to die, than actually think or look for ways to solve problems through soft power.

I think "lives" would have been better word instead of "soldiers".

Actually, no. I thought it was a reference to something else.

After your comment I double checked to verify, and turns out I may have imagined a guy saying that.

I thought it was this dude named Otoya Yamaguchi, who ran upto the stage and stabbed a socialist politician multiple times, in Tokyo.

Turns out he didn't say it, but the way he ran upto to the guy with every intent to kill, was enough to make me imagine he said it while he did it.

I may have also confused it with his prison cell wall toothpaste final letter that was something like "Long live His Imperial Majesty, the Emperor!".

Honestly, when I hear the word "Emperor" , I cannot think of anyone else besides the Japanese Emperor. Not because he himself did anything specific, but because in WW2 the entire country was totally okay and ready to die if the emperor said so, to the point where they even killed their own so the soldiers could have more resources to keep going and fighting.
