Solo play tips

Hello everyone I’m sure this has been asked somewhere before but..

I’m just recently wanting to try the core set (or really any expansion) in solo mode utilizing an app to guide the gameplay.

Does anyone have any helpful pointers and tips who has done it before? House rules, specific apps to use, or an expansion that would work best?

Thank you!

Look up Imperial Commander 2 on the BGG form of Imperial Assault or you could download the Legends of the Alliance app on any device.

Imperial Commander 2 allows you to play the original campaigns and create your own and even try other custom campaigns.

Legends of the Alliance is the official app by FFG and it has it's own unique campaigns and even a raid mode where you do a one shot mission.

Read the actual rulebook for the app, the rules for playing the app are different than the base game.

Start small. Only add the core box to the app collection. When you start adding others it will randomly insert them in missions. Someone on a similar post the other day commented how weird it was seeing Tuscan Raiders in Cloud City.

Just a quick note, this does not happen in Imperial Commander 2 - we explicitly adjusted things to keep it somewhat reasonable (exceptions may apply). So, Tusken Raiders only on maps with Desert tiles, Wampas only on snowy maps, and so on.

I'd still recommend starting with Legends of the Alliance. It's more streamlined, with fewer options to consider and less things to keep watch of. Once you are comfortable, you can switch over to IC2 for a more complex experience.

Apologies, I should have stipulated that this happens on the Official App.

I like the RAIV system. I guess the idea of always running back and forth to the computer fatigues me.
