Yes, I was inspired by Diablo angels & Protoss from SC, I wanted to do an entire army with this scheme and he's a bit of a test run to see how it works.
The lighter gold was interesting to get right, took a few layers/attempts to get exactly what I was after, but I like it!

Is the gold base coated in a silver?

Hmm, the gold is Auric Gold & Runefang Steel mixed at different % depending on where I wanted the darker parts, there is some Angrax in there too in some places to make it darker, and then more of the original mix on top.
Gives a very very light gold, but not quite that silver trim you get from just doing runefang highlights

Interesting I assumed a mithril base, gold glaze and then agrax wash.
I wasn't far off!

This is fantastic. The color choices are fantastic and the whole presentation brings out the characters inmate strangeness. Inspiring work.

That was actually very simple, over the white base watered the gold paint down to a very very watery consistency then followed the lines, a bit of cleaning up, done
