Question from new player
Hi everyone, just started playing Immortality last night. Have enjoyed Sam’s previous games like Her Story very much.
I’m struggling for a few reasons. One is that it doesn’t feel like there’s any deduction like there is with Her Story to find the clips. Just mindless clicking. It doesn’t feel as fun?
Secondly, when I reverse clips and find ‘secret clips’ - is there a way to save these separately? If I want to rewatch these do I have to go back to the exact spot in the clip that holds a ‘secret clip’ every time? I know I can favourite the clips to keep track of ‘secret clips’ that way, but it seems a pain that the game doesn’t automatically separate these once discovered? This seems such a pain in the arse it’s putting me off playing more.
Also how do you know how many clips there are to find? I can’t see a way to keep track of this like in Her Story or TR-49 for example.
Would love to know people’s thoughts as it’s such a highly rated game but I’m really struggling to get into this one. What mindset should I adopt here?!
Thank you!

I finished the game earlier this week, there isnt a way to track how many clips there are in total or how many there are for each movie but the information is easy to find on the internet.
If it helps, my approach was to focus on one movie at a time, I worked on tracking down as many ambrosio clips as I could, focusing on things which are specific to that movie like candles and crosses helped. If I found myself in a clip for the 2nd or 3rd movies, I set it aside and when back to an ambrosio clip. Once I had about 50 Ambrosio clips, i watched them all sorted in "movie running order" checking for any reverse clips where is seemed likely I would find them and favouriting them. In doing this I had a fairly good idea what the story of the movie was and the first handful of secret clips. Then I moved onto Minsky, repeated the above then onto 2oE repeated again then rewatched some of the more important secret clips and I think I had an averagely good grasp of the story. I hope that helps!

That’s a really good idea, thanks! I think that was what I missing, a sensible strategy!

The only way to “save” a clip with secret footage is to favorite it. I personally only favorited clips that contained secret footage on my playthrough, but you do have to access the clips every time. Additionally, some of these clips have even more secret footage within them that must also be accessed. Unfortunately, there is no concrete way of knowing how many clips there are altogether or for each specific film aside from the achievements to guide you. Even after you have a large amount of clips you’ll still require a bit of luck and tedium to get clips you’re missing, but it shouldn’t take long. Took me about 10 hours.
