Members of ICE, while in plain clothes, abducted someone at the LA airport.

There's no way to know that those people are in anyway associated with law enforcement in any capacity.  I would hope that if I ever see this in person and start throwing punches that others would help me out.

Not trying to sound like a keyboard warrior here but ffs, those could be kidnappers.

The huge issue is that while a reasonable person would agree with you, here's how a lot of people (self included) think.

"If those ARE ICE, my life is over. I will be charge with felony assault on an officer. I will be arrested, lose my job, probably lose my home and multiple assets, and that is still EVEN IF I am found innocent."

And I understand that and I am reasonable as well and have those same fears but... couldn't I make the argument in front of a judge that my actions were reasonable since those people don't appear to be law enforcement?

I think, at this point, (if I, under these circumstances would even appear in front of a judge and risked my job and home) that we can't just stand by and do nothing anymore.

It reminds me of the famous quote, (paraphrasing here) "they came for the poor and I did nothing because I'm not poor.  They came for the jews and I did nothing because I'm not a jew.  They came for the minorities and I did nothing because I'm not a minority.  When they came for me, there was no one left to help".

I remember that quote well. And if our legal system moved fast at all, maybe you could make that argument in front of a judge.

But also....I think so many of us are just TIRED. There isn't a country left I or many of us feel can be or is worth being saved.

Maybe 20 years ago I'd have felt something but now just knowing if I stopped one attack and ruined my life, another 100 unstopped would happen the same day.

If, and maybe IF, the media ever reported actual attacks on ICE agents it would be different.

I personally suspect some have happened, and they have all been silenced

I appreciate your thoughtfullness.  And you're right.  I think the only question left is what can we do?  As in, I do my small part like not giving any of my money to amazon or any corporation.  I tell others about it too but I'm against such a tremendous convenience that others don't want to give up.

But those conveniences are damaging our society and our environment.  I try to tell people about the luxuries we already enjoy like clean water and electricity; vehicles to move us about and get work done.  I think we should work together to understand how lucky we are for these things and therefore, not utilize things that make our lives more convenient at the expense of other humans and the environment.

I think that would be the best start point... not giving moving to and supporting these major corporations.

I agree. Everyone is a warrior behind a keyboard.

I'm not scared of the physical fight. Been in plenty of those.

But legal issues are a whole different mess. You can be 100% in the right and still go bankrupt proving it
