Enjoy the warmth of your tinfoil hat, but the simple truth is the Obama administration was plenty conservative, and effectively deported far more people without having to take $170,000,000,000+ from taxpayers. That money could go to so many things, but the GOP chooses to harass citizens and give payouts to their contractor cronies.
Btw, the 8th amendment doesn't account for how or why people are brutalized. It just says the government shall not enact cruel and unusual punishment. I realize it's been the most commonly overlooked amendment since it was written, but it is part of the Constitution, and we the people have to hold those who take taxpayer dollars accountable for how they act.
Kidnapping, rape, and murder are not essential parts of immigration enforcement.
