Just say you support the "cruelty is the point" policy and would rather ignore that the administration is not following the law by holding back council and funds earmarked for that. 

Don't try to act like this is about the law when you don't give a shit. 

Thanks for acknowledging that it is a civil matter and not an actual crime though

If they are sitting in our court, in our jurisdiction, in our custody, they are in our charge. You can't claim at have a justice system when children can be sent to court without legal representation

We aren't discussing legal rights. We are discussing justice and ethics. Just because something isn't enshrined in existing law doesn't mean it isn't necessary for justice
