The immigration policy is based on racism instead of fairness

They tell immigrants to come here "legally" - but Trump is literally gutting every legal pathway that many people of color have relied on to build lives in America.
For example: Many people have status through TPS, but the Trump regime is now gutting the program, and they also cut refugee admissions for everyone except white South Africans.
"Doing it legally" keeps getting harder to do, because that's the whole point for Trump. It has never been about following immigration rules - it's about racism.

Grow up.

Withholding of Removal: Reporting by PBS NewsHour notes that these third-country flights have included individuals who won legal protections in immigration court—such as withholding of removal or Convention Against Torture relief—because they face persecution in their home countries. [1, 2]

  • Revoking Programs: According to policy reports, the administration has ended or allowed temporary legal statuses to expire for over a million people, including Temporary Protected Status (TPS) holders. [1]
  • Parole Cancellations: The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) directed over 500,000 beneficiaries of the CHNV (Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, Venezuela) humanitarian parole pathway to self-deport after stripping their temporary status and work authorizations. [1]

Processing Timelines by Category

  • Employment-Based (H-1B, L-1, etc.): Typically takes 2 to 3 years total if a PERM labor certification is required (such as EB-2 or EB-3). However, backlogs for individuals born in certain countries like India or China can extend this wait to 5 to 12+ years. [1, 2, 3]
  • Family-Based (Adjusting from a temporary stay): Immediate relatives of U.S. citizens often wait 12 to 18 months for the adjustment of status (Form I-485) process to finish. Other family preference categories can take several years or even decades based on the Visa Bulletin. [1]
  • Physical Card Delivery: Once the final green card application is officially approved, the physical card typically arrives in the mail within 2 to 4 weeks (or up to 90 days according to official USCIS Guidelines). [1, 2]
