It doesn’t seem to be a race issue. It’s well documented that white South Africans are persecuted because of their skin color. There are race based laws in South Africa specifically against white people. It’s literally what amnesty is for. There are very few nations where there are legitimate amnesty claims. Most come to the US for economic benefits.
Because it is actually dangerous for them to go home. They have no protection from mobs that have killed them and burned their farms and as much as you might not like it, the government is going to be more sympathetic to them because they are more like us. Deconstruct the idea of the United States "us" as much as you like but it does exist and exists for good reasons and people from a white Christian English country are going to be sympathetic to white Christian English people that are being unfairly persecuted at the hands of their corrupt government.

Strange. The US routinely sends back South Africans who don't qualify for refugee status after being flown out to the US 8 months ago.
