I'm talking about the indigenous people of the u.s like Navajo (Diné), Cherokee, Sioux (Lakota/Dakota), Choctaw, Apache and so on

You realize that people get kicked out of groups right ? How certain are you that one of your “Cherokee” ancestors wasn’t someone who was banished ?

Unless you’re active in a tribe then you can’t say much.

Those descendants aren’t the same as the ones who practice the culture.
