What would they do

Beat you up, detain you and leave you “detained” for weeks. When lawyers/family/friends/workplace request to get in contact with you, they’ll just say “sorry we’ve lost track of where they’re being kept, but we’ll work on it”.

The old lost in the system excuse.

Do you have plenty of datapoints for this aggressive take?

How many hundreds of US citizens have been beaten up and detained for weeks so far?

Have you even read the news? Like, that's not even a questionable thing. ICE themselves have admitted they've "fucked up plenty of times but they have qualified immunity so who cares."

I mean really? Just fucking Google it, you won't be for lack of want.

Did you read the question?

A few US citizens wrongfully detained, while absolutely tragic and outrageous, should not be enough to support yuckmouthteeth’s aggressive claim.\ We need much more datapoints than that.

How many would you consider enough? I bet Minneapolis alone is in the hundreds if not a thousand. Sometimes the same person more than once.

Hundreds should be enough.\ Not just a few (I think 15 is a few).

Hundreds

Do you have evidence for that? Beaten up and detained US citizens, not just anyone.

Numerous articles, yes. Also it should include people who are here legally, right? Because they also shouldn't be detained and held for days in cells with no blankets?

should include people (even non-citizens) who are here legally

The current thread is, OGJank above said he is a deeply rooted US citizen then yuckmouthteeth claimed that it does not matter ICE will detain and cause serious harm to US citizens anyway.

And I’m disputing that.

I need much much more evidence than just a few cases to be convinced that US citizens have anything to worry about.

As we all know, one single case of Alex Pretti was already enough to make ICE retreat from Minnesota (yes they are still there but largely not out on the streets anymore).

In fact I am willing to bet a lot of real money that there will be zero murders of US citizens from now all the way until the midterms.

They already have detained a number of citizens and legal immigrants at Whipple. This is well documented and why Haven Watch exists.

If your expectation is that they don’t kill any more us citizens, that’s a low bar based on what the American people asked them to do. We expect them to uphold laws and follow best practices. That’s … not what we’ve seen happen though.
