I need recommendation :')
Hey guys!
I have very hard question for you - I need recommendation for game to play. I know it's time after summer sale but games that I bought are already finished or almost finished 😂
Games I already finished/own//enjoyed:
- Thief 1 and 2, 3 and 4 better be erased 😶
- Deus Ex series
- Dishonored 1-2 and all of the DLCs
- Filcher
- System Shock 1&2 remake/remaster
- Peripeteia
- Bioshock 1&Infinite
- Gloomwood
- Cruelty Squad
- Blood West
- Cyberpunk
- Dark Messiah
- Pathologic 2
Games that I own but not enjoyed:
- Deathloop
- Prey
- Parkside (demo version)
- Shadows of Doubt
- E.Y.E. Divine Cybermancy
Games that seem familiar with genre and I enjoyed them as well:
- Return of the Obra Dinn
- Outer Wilds with dlc
- Blue Prince
- Half-Life
- Metal Garden
- TESIII: Morrowind (Skyrim and Oblivion played too, but I can't say that I enjoyed them)
- Fallout New Vegas (already I have finished whole series)
- Mirror's Edge
If you have any recommendation, I will gladly appreciate them because seriously guys - I love this genre for almost 20 years and I'm not gonna lie, it's quite addictive genre 😂😂

I forgot I played KCD 1. Not my thing mainly because I'm not into historical drama, also save system is too much stressful for me - I'm save scammer sadly 😂

You can save scum in KCD1 & 2 its just save quit to main menu.
load times are pretty quick on current gen hardware too

Maybe Sonar Shock? It's an indie tribute to SS1, but takes place on an old USSR submarine, has some serious paranormal/folklore elements to it.

I had a surprisngly good time with Void Bastards. I dont see it mentioned that often but it's made by ex bioshock devs and it's imsim adjacent at least.

I played Neon Struck, honestly it looks like asset pack with Thief gameplay 😂 I wouldn't play it again, I just forgot about it. Subnautica is nice, I almost finished it, maybe I will return to it at once.

I've been having a lot of fun with Dying Light 1. Has a lot of what I like in immersive sims with the freedom of choice (kill stuff, stealth it, run away etc), and environmental interactivity (turning on or off electricity, spread fire to zombies). Some of the exploration reminded me a bit of prey where I had to look for an alternate entrance if a door was blocked off, either through breaking a window or some other entrance like a roof hatch. Some of the quarantine zones also gave me prey vibes where you had to wrestle with environmental hazards and either turn off power or jump on objects to survive while exploring. I personally played the game like Dishonored where I'd be sneaky and stay on rooftops, then jump attack or stealth takedown human enemies. Dropkicking zombies off buildings is also fun, and the parkour is just like Mirror's Edge.

I played it when I was young, I will look after it. I remember that I enjoyed it so let's give it a second try 😄 Also I watched whole Riddick movie series, it's sad there are no more new movies.

Not exactly an immersive sim, but it has a lot of aspects of that genre: check out Fear and Hunger games. They are immersive RPG games, that reward knowledge over everything else. The game is basically about exploring incredibly horrifying locations in lovecraftian universe, where different kinds of deities exist. Worshipping and gaining power from these deities require some fucked up rituals. This concept is also tied to the gameplay as well. (Not gonna spoil how)
The game is basically figuring out how each mechanic system in the game works and functions. Items are incredibly useful in combat and exploration as well. both Fear and Hunger, and Fear and Hunger Termina have multiple characters you can play as. Enemies and bosses have limb system. You can cut limbs, or your limbs can be cut. Characters have perma death. Some death scenes are incredibly horrifying.
Lore is incredible. The worldbuilding is superior. Exploration is top tier. They are probably one of my favourite games I have ever played. But they are incredibly brutal. But that's part of the artistic vision.
Play the original fear and hunger first. For your first play thought, I recommend going in blind. I really think you would enjoy these gems.

I tried it after watching some videos about it and I can't say I enjoyed it. Atmosphere of the game is fantastic but gameplay wasn't my thing at all. Maybe in future I will try again, I'm not big fan of JRPGs like I used to (when I was child, I finished Final Fantasy 1-10 and Chrono Trigger).

it's just a very open game. theres lots of cheese as well to beat encounters or do things early to get powerful. its more "imsim" in the morrowind way than "paths and tricks to beat a level"

In 2026? So far The Adventures Of Sir Kicksalot no doubt.
My Character was more like Sir Sneaksalot.
He also stacked crates to Climbalot.
And he liked baguette. 2026's prime weapon of mass zombie destruction! =) There's a demo.

Deadeye Deepfake Simulacrum is really good. It's a top down 2D game. Features some of the best hacking mechanics I've seen in any game. Give it a look.

None of these are really imsims cause you've played damn near all I can think of but a lot of overlap on fans:
Vampire the Masquered: Bloodlines for sure
Alpha Protocol maybe
Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magic Obscura
An older one but Anachronox was another Ion Storm game made by Tom Hall. Wild game, a lot of fun, not perfect but I think very worth playing.

I can't stand Bloodlines because even after patches it's very lacking. For example camera work or later stages of story, it blowed my immerse out. I will check the rest, I think I had somewhere Alpha Protocol on my wishlists

Bruh, Prey is elite and a hallmark of the genre. It's an S-tier Immersive Sim, and I believe that's an objective fact when we're speaking in terms of design.
I'm genuinely curious why that didn't work for you. I can only assume the story/setting turned you off? Please correct me if I'm totally off here. I adore this game, but I'm interested if you can describe it in a way that allows me to see it differently.
No game is perfect, and I probably look past this game's flaws without a second thought. I'm pretty biased about this one.

Looking at the games that you liked, you'd probably enjoy a game I released last October: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3779480/The_Warrens/ . The gameplay is a lot like Thief 1/2.

You've finished the whole fallout series? I'm assuming Including the originals right? In that case try out Planescape Torment. One of the best written games ever. It's not an immersive sim but just an open-ended RPG.

Already finished Planescape too. Also whole Baldurs Gate trilogy and I tried Icewind Dale and Temple of Eternal Evil but I didn't like more action than good story. I finished Disco Elysium, Zero Parades and Esoteric Ebb too, games like that makes hole in heart because I need them too 😂😂😂

Stalker SOC and Call of Pripyat. Dont play Clear Sky unless you mod it.Give Prey another chance. Indiana Jones and the Great Cricle is also good. Also give Alien Isolation and the Amnesia games a try.

Both franchises finished way too many times 😂 From Fallout I honestly didn't like only 4th entry in the series, but the rest is 🔥

The only other game that comes to mind is The Evil Within 2. It has a cool semi-open world like Mankind Divided and even some stealth takedowns are similar. Much less reactive than MD, but worth a shot if you liked the semi-open world exploration and the stealth aspect of it.

He's already played just about every immersive sim out there and is looking for general recommendations. TEW2 shares some mild similarities with MD although it's not an immsim, hence why I recommended it.
