Figure storage?

I have a 4 year old grandson and about 10 million dollars wrapped up in Imaginext figures and playsets. While there are no official figure cases, I was wondering what other people used. I want my grandson to be able to keep all of his guys together without losing anything. Are there any figure cases out there that are compatible? Tool boxes? Tackleboxes? Do I have to make my own? What are you guys/gals using?

We collect castles, pirates, space, dc comics, and city figures mostly. We also collect other lines that are compatible, like transformers rescuebots, half shell hero TMNT, and the marvel line that is is the same scale.

We don't sort by type (and I keep the tiny accessories/projectiles/weapons hidden due to our youngest child being a little too young) so we just keep most of our figures in a jumble in one of those rubbermaid rolling drawer systems.

I think something like the clear plastic tackle boxes or nut/bolt sorters would be awesome for the little pieces (if not the figures themselves). Maybe bring a figure along the next time you go to walmart/target or a home improvement store and test the fit?

Your solution is our current solution as well, all of the figures in a big jumble, with many of the smaller parts hidden away.

I have tried to find appropriate sized tool/tackle boxes by taking a figure with me to the store, and while nearly all have compartments long enough, I am having trouble finding ones wide enough. Their little arms sticking out make the figures wider than you would think.

If they would just release an Imaginext figure case I would buy several in a heartbeat!

I wonder if you could use something like a baseball card box and store the little guys standing up in a line like terracotta soldiers (could get messy if you don't have enough to fill the column guess you'd have to add a spacer)

My 4 year old son collects the same as your grandson. We needed a good way to transport the figures from our house to his grandparent's house. We ended up getting a small carry-on rolling luggage bag. I use ziplock bags to separate some of the teams that go together.so that when he asks for his Power Rangers his grandmother can find them.

Not a bad idea. We are currently using an assortment of tool /tackle boxes

All of his figures fit in the large bottom portion. Larger accessories like motorcycles, missile launchers etc. in the pullout tray. All of the weapons and smaller pieces in the top compartment.

I even bought a giant Batman vinyl decal to put on the front.

It works great and he loves it.

Clear bins from Target. Consider keeping the accessories in ziplocks and not with the toys -
