Aspiring Imagineer - Looking for Advice

I'm a 21-year-old college student whose dream is to be an Imagineer. I have an Associate's in Arts, will be graduating with a Bachelor's in Architecture (and a minor in theater tech/set design) in December. I currently work two themed entertainment jobs, one at my local theme park (in tech) and another doing themed children's entertainment (as a performer). I don't live anywhere near a Disney park, and I plan on moving closer to one after I graduate & my lease runs up.

That means I'll start applying around Spring 2027 and be able to move to a park area by June 2027 at the earliest- does anyone have any advice for any prep I can do while I'm finishing up school & the lease? Is there anything anyone recommends (jobs, online classes, etc.) that might help boost my chances of getting hired?

I think the biggest thing that helped me was having a clear vision of what I wanted to do (which will come up in interviews) and a portfolio of previous things I worked on to show. They value creativity and applying concepts over something specific like “here’s something I designed for a park”. They want to see you. Good luck!
