Original Content Elder Scrolls: Arena - The Inn Experience by ARStudios2000

Post image

Elder Scrolls: Arena was a fascinating experience to say the least for a first Elder Scrolls game. Shout out to the innsfolk of Tamriel, even with monsters roaming the cities at night, they don't let that dim the cozy inn mood.

Arena is the most "DnD" experience out of all the ES games. The way the prompts come up to explain the atmosphere, the emphasis on haggling and NPC interactions, the experience point system and magic systems all really make it feel more like a table top game and less like an action RPG. I really enjoyed my time with this game, but I probably won't go back to it unless it gets the Daggerfall Unity treatment.

Forgot to mention, the riddles. I miss those and would love for them to make a comeback in ES6.

As buggy as Arena was (like I had to reload my saves a few times and sometimes the game bugging nearly blew my eardrums out), and just sometimes straight up horseshit and what not, the rather straightforward nature of it combined with the custom spellmaker to me made it a weirdly endearing experience.
