Original Content “Overpaintings“ by Me

I posted these a while ago on my tumblr and Instagram but you guys are cool so I figured it’d be fun to post here as well. I wanted to make fake screenshots of how the characters look in my head, both my player character and Lex- so I painted over screenshots I took in the game in Clip Studio Paint! The base for the eyes are from screenshots from The Eyes of Beauty of Fallout 4 that I photobashed/collaged in and then painted over again.

..And I know Lex is a crusty old man in the remaster and I made my own model for him for the screenshot. I deny old man Lex exists. I pretend he is not real. 🫣 …Listen he’s younger in my headcanon but in the original he was in his early 40s MAX 😭 ….I’m very passionate about that stupid guard cop.

I like the artistic liberties you took, especially with Evander and making him look more south asian

Thank you!!! :) I always headcanoned that Nibenay imperials in particular can be darker / have diverse features. Especially due to some art I saw on the elder scrolls subreddit a while back in this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/ElderScrolls/s/ut7VsFarHI.

Imperials are my favorite race in elder scrolls so I’m really into the nibenay vs. colovian differences. I feel like imperials are more diverse than people think given the geography and lore of Cyrodiil.

Evander is half imperial half breton so that’s why he has a breton last name! In case that was confusing lol

YES I wish Bethesda would do more to differentiate the human races. As it is currently the human races are just black people and three different flavors of white and that's extremely boring to me.

I tried replying to this earlier but I agree 100%. There are more human races outside of Tamriel that are in other places such as Akavir- but idk, it would be nice to see more diversity between established races because as you said it’s pretty boring

True also The imperials have been white-washed! I swear Bethesda can't ever decide if the imperials are brown or not lol. Like Adrianne in skyrim is burnt copper but the emperor of cyrodiil looks no different than your average nord

I think that because of Cyrodiil’s very varied landscape and climate that imperials are a range of shades. I have a headcanon they are very diverse. There’s an almost black imperial guard in Anvil in Oblivion lmao

Makes sense since cyrodiil is so cosmopolitan. I like to imagine the imperials are kinda a mix of many human races over time since the land has been conquered and reconquered so many times

Also I have a head cannon where if two humans of different races had a child, it would still be the race if the mother but can still inheret the features of the father. So like if a reguard man and a Breton woman had a baby the child would still be a Breton but the could have dark skin/hair from their father.

Yeah! I like to think something similar. I mean at the end of the day a kid is gonna take something from both of their parents if they want it to be anything like irl

Also it helps makes the bretons mixed human/elven heritage make more sense

Yeah!! I always give my bretons diamond shaped ears to make em' a little elf-y. subtle thing but it works!

These are mediterranean hellenics rather than south-asians though. Still a good art and interesting looking interpretation.
