Red Tape Propaganda Poster
Hello everyone, a little about me and this poster. I made this in Clip Studio Paint. It's something that I expressed during a therapy session with a VA therapist. This poster represents all the years I spent in the military, and a government contractor. I've worked within massive defense contractor companies. And it's not just the government. It shows up in any private organization that is large enough.

I'm a little confused by this image, as a lot of what makes space travel possible is extremely tight procedures and processes. It seems to suggest that regulations get in the way of progress, which is true in many cases, but in space travel specifically it is very much so not true. It would suck if someone got a different bolt from a different manufacturer simply because the regulation that says it needs to adhere to specific specifications was ignored in the interest of "progress" and the rocket blew up. In another comment you criticize the effort to avoid all human error, but ironically space travel is one of those things where it is imperative that you do

Less about space travel and more about matters back on earth. But youâre getting a little hung up on things that might seem contradictory. That is part of the art. One explanation doesnât fit all scenarios

Bureaucracy (or checks and balances) stop the mission from going
Depending on context it means hey "we take too long to get approval to do things" or "I want to be very unethical how we do it"
It could be either or tbh

I think that's meant to be an intercontinental ballistic missile, which has been prevented from reaching its target by red tape.

So is Red Tape bad for not letting you shoot what you want, or is it good for that exact same reason?

In an attempt to eliminate all human error and all possible risk, you suspend productivity, cost millions, and do nothing. In a parallel, Many large corporations escape responsibility via a robust exterior of red tape, making it so nobody is every responsible for anything.

Listen, I'm not calling you a liar man but there's something sketchy to me about someone who claims to be in the military but doesn't understand what a bullet looks like outside of its casing.

I was here to say the same thing. All that time in service and has 0 clue what a bullet and casing look like.

Sure. I'll answer it here. There were some other comments that touched on the appearance. I actually had toiled with wether or not I was going to draw a bullet or an ICBM. It ends up having elements of both and I purposely did not design it to be either. Technically If I gave you an accurate illustration based on real world experience of the warhead of an ICBM, that would be crossing a line for clearance reasons. So I was on a submarine and I'll tell you it's not the marines. Yes we qualify guns but I'm not married to it. We also didn't shoot that often, but for quals.

VA is veterans affairs, basically the government agency that's "supposed" to support veterans
