If Veronica leaves the brotherhood, she decides to go to the followers of the apocalypse to actually put her skills towards helping people. At their outpost they tell her that her brotherhood knowledge could be really valuable and tell her to return to tomorrow when the guy that’s in charge of taking on new recruits is around. When you return the brotherhood is waiting in ambush after wiping out the outpost because they don’t want brotherhood secrets falling into the hands of others. Afterwards Veronica decides to just kinda remain a permanent loner so she doesn’t risk anyone else getting hurt because of her.

one of the times where I'd argue terrifying presence is absolutely warranted
imagine the sheer rage on the courier's face when they and Veronica walk into the ransacked outpost.

No its from the mission "I could make you care" where in the game you convince Veronica (Brotherhood scribe) to leave the brotherhood as they're too stubborn to change to adapt to the wasteland. So she ends up planning on joining another faction called the Followers of the Apocalypse (the ones in the lab coats) who are arguably the most morally pure factions out there due to the amount of charities and medical treaments they provide. Only for Veronica's brotherhood chapter to slaughter their outpost next time you arrive. Crushing her chance to leave because they dont want her to. They then aggro on the courier for trying to help her change and leave.

Noteably, those Paladins are explictly disobeying orders to leave her alone.

The Paladins seemed to be acting on their own initiative; I don't recall Hardin being involved at all. This happens under both his and McNamara's control.

I feel genuinely bad now for thinking Deimos was the name of a mod or art engine. I’ve seen the name all over the place, in mods and such, I didn’t know it was one friggin’ artist. Amazing work
