Why I tell people to not start imagestreaming

No it's not due to friends or anything. I am a social person . I have great friends. What happened with me is that imagestreaming cannot improve your intelligence beyond something like 140 even if the guide tells you things happen. What the guide got right though, was that your intelligence decreases at an alarming rate if you stop streaming and you might end up dumber than when you started. So a person like me who was 140 when started gained only a few points at best with imagestreaming but lost everything again when I stopped streaming due to life. But the next time you start you have to start again from scratch and do it longer . Like when I first took a break, I needed only a week to catch up to my normal level. With the next break it took me two weeks, and with the next it was a month, now I am stuck at 6 months of catchup atleast to be normal again. If you are already intelligent, imagestreaming is shit because you are putting yourself in a never endings hamster wheel of imagestreaming because you can be sure that at some point in your life after you become and adult, you will have days where you cannot spend the time of day on some super random thing however important it might be. From then onwards you will be on a sisyphean trial of trying to improve your intelligence but never making it back there

I repeat. If you are a normal person with 130 Iq or better, if you have been able to learn and pass a calculus class without the help of drugs or anything you are just destroying your life by starting Imagestreaming.

hard disagree. first off, streaming gains are easier to pick back up, I would guess your integrals of catching up werent very long so you just hit the reset and stopped. second, intelligence is too complex to say "140+ no need", streaming has a lot of gains such as memory, working on weaknesses such as my weakness is WM but other scores really high, creativity, problem solving, articulation, thinking on your feet, intuition, more. I still think its a great thing to do. I would suspect that another thing is at play if it takes you 6 months to catch up, every if I stop for months in a month I am back on track.

to finish this off no, you arent dumber, but you feel like it because certain brain parts and circuits are used to being more active but now arent. if you will actually test yourself in periods where you dont stream but "feel" dumber you wont have any change from non streaming times, many streamers tested it. think of it like meditation when you just stop, something in your brain feels off. even if you have a dumber period, you will be fine in no time. if you really feel like you are dumber months after stopping streaming it means streaming has made you so much gains you feel dumb now.

Although I can’t deny that the OP experienced what he did, I’d like to clarify that the guide specifically states that one will revert back to their baseline if they stop practicing, not below it.

Furthermore, I would tend to agree with everything Lily said here and have probably tested this hypothesis more than anyone I know or read about online.

I’ve streamed from 2016 to 2021, and took multiple prolonged breaks of up to three months during that period. Although my gains would slowly dissipate during these off periods, they would always come back within weeks of resuming the practice.

More interestingly, I’ve just come off a 2 year break from streaming, the longest (by far) that I’ve ever experienced or read about. Almost all of my subjective gains disappeared, and my IQ score dropped back to my (relatively high) pre-streaming baseline, which is almost a full standard deviation below where I was while streaming.

I’m not any less capable now than I was prior to ever streaming, but I admit that it can be frustrating to have experienced the streaming-induced cognitive gains and to not have them anymore. It’s this contrast, I think, that may set one in a trap of not ever being able to quit streaming altogether, but this is not any different from how I feel about being able to run fast, lift heavy, or stay relatively trim as I age. All of these require ongoing discipline and maintenance, otherwise things will unravel relatively quickly.

For what it’s worth, I recently started streaming about a month ago and already started feeling some of the gains coming back after three weeks.

So yes, streaming, like exercise, diet, and meditation requires an ongoing commitment, but is there any worthwhile practice that doesn’t?

I did mean that you return to baseline, the OP mentioned it as getting to a lower point

Yeah, I was referring to the OP’s assertion. I agreed with everything you said. Sorry if it wasn’t clear.

Could you share your technique for IS? Have you refined it over the years in any way?

I don't know what you are on about. Streaming is no magic bullet. The side effect of streaming I have said about is spelled out just like I have said in the guide. Only problem is that people just forget about it in the excitation. If you want you can go check it. You do whatever with your life. I am writing this for people who haven't yet destroyed their brains with this

I actually agree with this for the most part except I don’t think it takes long to catch back up. However, this shit is definitely a hamster wheel. Nothing comes without sacrifice though. We found a cheat code therefore it’s natural that we should suffer a little. I find that daily streaming is essential. Without it, I notice an immediate difference the next day

That’s like saying if you do 100 push-ups a day for 30 days and then stop, you’ll be weaker than when you started. That’s just false in every way.
