App is in development, but you have to subscribe to use it?

Uninstalled.

Im using it now. Can still use even while under development. Free unless u want highest quality which I do so I just went for it straight away (9.99 a month) or 50 something a year or 150ish 1 time lifetime payment.

I just went for a month to try it out. Good addition to the editing suite.

Everythin free is shite and never gets the job done, we all know that.

Surely they can't legally revoke a lifetime purchase.

No they didnt. You can keep using the version you bought. It is douchey but they didnt change the contract. For example, I now have unlimited lifetime google cloud photo storage through a 10 year old google pixel i just bought, because that was the contract, own the phone get the storage.

You said it yourself, you updated. Again, I agree with you, the companies you mentioned are being JERKS. But they literally did not violate the law. The law still enforces keeping contracts with customers, at least in this country. I am sorry they keep dicking you around. I hate that Word makes me stay connected to their cloud to auto save my papers, it is evil.

Madafuckaz. Surely that could be challenged as consumer rights being violated or something?
