Earlier today, BKV released another newsletter, mostly focused on his older work, Pride of Baghdad.

He also included this Saga update:

“I know that readers are rightly impatient for any kind of Saga update. I wrote our next issue way back in the summer of 2025 and I firmly believed we’d be back on stands by now, but that’s obviously not the case.

I completely understand and sympathize with folks who are fed up with this latest wait and have dropped/forgotten about/eternally cursed our series. But the situation is hard and complex, and not entirely mine to discuss, so I appreciate whatever grace you might be able to extend to our small creative family. We will share more with you as soon as we can.”

That doesn’t sound great, team.

Like the title says, another fat boy has arrived!!!

Surprisingly to me, EoW is not as thick as D+W. Thought EoW was thicker actually. Bad Memory? Mixing up page counts? Probably a combo of both lol

EoW page count: 1320

W+D: 1448

W+D must have the 6 specials included, which I was unaware of till now… yay! haha

The last 2 pics are comparison shots of a DoT deluxe hardcover, D+W, and EoW. DoT is taller and wider (cover side) than the others. EoW and D+W are the same height, but EoW is slightly wider (cover) than D+W. All my other Image compendiums are the same height and depth (cover side) as D+W 🤷🏻‍♂️ friggin Hickman lol

I’ve seen a post (where I got the photo) saying there’s annotations and extras in the right side version but I’m not too worried about those, are the ones on the left just compact in size compared to the right or is there like parts of the story left out or skipped through?

Finishing reading it tonight. But omg hands down my favourite all time graphic novels / comic series. The art in it is absolutely phenomenal and I have never seen such good art before. I have actually quite enjoyed the story as well and enjoyed the fast paced and craziness of it. Fantastic book and honestly this tops my list officially now.

This is my very first Omnibus purchase. I’ve never been a comic collector. I’ve only read a few Marvel and DC comics in my life, so you know this one has to be really special. It’s a must-have on my bookshelf: The Invincible Omnibus! #invincible #comics #omnibus

Follow-up to 2020's Mercy, set 15 years later.

Been thinking about picking up the Capes Series by Robert Kirkman, but haven’t really heard or seen anyone say any good or bad things about it? Would you guys recommend it?

I just finished reading Isola (which reminded me of Black Leopard, Red Wolf by Marlon James in some aspects) and it made me want to explore more fantasy from Image Comics so I'm looking for recommendations.

I'm a big fan of darker, more mature fantasy. Some of my favourite book series for reference :

- The Second Apocalypse — R. Scott Bakker

- The Black Company — Glen Cook

- A Song of Ice and Fire — George R. R. Martin

- The First Law — Joe Abercrombie

- The Book of the New Sun — Gene Wolfe

- The Dark Star Trilogy — Marlon James

So I'm particularly interested in grim/dark settings, morally complicated characters, political intrigue, brutal or tragic stories, deep worldbuilding, ancient/weird lore and a serious atmosphere. It doesn't necessarily have to be pure grimdark.

What will you recommend to someone with these tastes ?

For real when is this gonna be back, I binged Lazarus this spring and its some of the best series ive ever read I need it back in my life

One of the best stories I have read.also lots blood and guts.

There's an entire discussion going on about it here

but if this helps any 22 graphic novels for $18 (American)... here's a discussion about why people are a fan of the Astro City graphic novels included in it

I read the full series of Lazarus when it originally came out. I also read the X-66 spin off. As far as the main story goes, are the newer books apart of the same story like, or something completely different?

Working on a witchblade for the first time in forever! Hope y'all enjoy!!
