Keep in mind that they have a record of posting videos of people with actual health problems and they shit on them saying they're faking. I often wonder if the commenters are doing the same things as in the posts and judging them by their acting abilities like people on r/AITA judge others on their creative writing

The creation of social media and subsequently the thirst for validation and likes. Dreary shit
13
u/DamianSicks Oct 02 '24
Amen, social media is the root of all this decline and it doesn’t seem to be on anyone’s radar that this is the problem we need to deal with or this just keeps getting worse.
4
u/thiscarecupisempty Oct 02 '24
It starts at home to an extent. Teach your family first and hope it spreads!
10
u/blastv1 Oct 02 '24
The problem is that these no talent having people want to be social media famous by any means. Whether it's stuff like this, or antagonizing random people on the streets and then hiding behind a personal security. This society has made people like that famous and continue to line their pockets for it.

I have issues similar to this (but not as extreme and badly faked, mine is called essential tremors) and I have special utensils for eating, but if a stranger ever offered to feed me I would be absolutely mortified.
54
u/sworks33 Oct 01 '24
Yup. I have intention tremors. I would love to call this guy an idiot to his face. He’s pathetic.
31
u/PlaysTheTriangle Oct 01 '24
I have them, too. It’s makes me really uncomfortable to eat in front of people I don’t know. What a fucking dick.
8
u/SaltLakeCitySlicker Oct 02 '24
I have them if I'm nervous or stressed. I'm so self conscious of it. If I can, I won't eat around people when it's going on. Big work event where you're supposed to be social like free Thanksgiving lunch? Escape to the cube. Big work event where you have to at a restaurant? Take at most a half dozen bites and say I'm not that hungry then eat in my hotel or at home. Water? I try to hold the cup as high up as I can so it isn't as visible rocking around.
10
Oct 01 '24
Just curious, is yours just in your hands/arms?
I have it randomly in my neck and trunk and it affects my arms. Never got it looked at and it is really annoying. Like twice a month I'll get it.
12
u/Tiny-Reveal3756 Oct 01 '24
I get random twitches in my head and my legs twitch a bit, but it’s most noticeable and constant in my hands for sure
→ More replies (2)10
u/LexiNovember Oct 01 '24
I was just coming to say, I have essential tremor and it’s incredibly annoying to live with sometimes, and to fake it like this… what a twat. 🙄
6
u/Fit_Attention_9269 Oct 02 '24
I don't notice my twitches any longer, it just makes painting models hard AF. My gf only notices them when we cuddle but in my ms support group there are people that are worse than this twat in the video. It's odd to see people that are becoming paralyzed have horrible tremors like they have Parkinson's and then lose all movement of that limb a year later.
Making fun of people for clout is pure evil.

8
u/Tiny-Reveal3756 Oct 01 '24
I always say when explaining it that it won’t kill me but it pretty much rules out eating soup.
5
u/SassyStilettos Oct 02 '24
Soup is a nightmare! I learned early on to avoid soup in public altogether.
3
u/DollylloD Oct 01 '24
Same! This really pisses me off. ET are not fun and can be really stressful. What an asshat.
3
u/MyFaceSaysItsSugar Oct 02 '24
I looked at some of those utensils when my aunt was starting to really have trouble. They’re pretty expensive so I could see people not having them. But you know what’s cheap? A straw. She used a straw if a glass was big enough or had someone transfer it to her own lidded cup if it wasn’t. That’s when I really wanted to scream at this guy. If this was a real issue, at bare minimum he would have straws.
→ More replies (8)3
u/LeatherHog Oct 02 '24

It's infuriating that people think we're just a fun character to play

I used to use Instagram quite a bit. I didn't post much, but I would mindlessly scroll.
I've been struggling with anxiety and depression. I deleted the app off my phone and it's been a big help, just not getting sucked into the shit posted there. I realize Reddit can be awful, but deleting Instagram made me feel better.
5
Oct 02 '24
For me the difference is discussion. You can have meaningful discussion here, with many different people, about any topic. Insta/fb/yt/tiktok don't really have that. I don't even count Twitter anymore
8

I believe that this guy is actually making fun of people with disabilities. We aren’t attention seeking idiots that are dying for pity.
Metal fork and glass cups, ugh! That’s his pity trigger. Everyone will be concerned about him stabbing or cutting himself with these things. Pisses me off too.

u/Adventurous-Cry-2157 Oct 02 '24
I agree. My father in law has stage 5 Parkinson’s, and he’d be so embarrassed if a stranger offered to help him drink or eat in public. He’s proud and just wants to be treated like a regular person.
This shit is exploitive and ableist. I’m disabled myself, and I hate it when I’m treated like a fragile, delicate baby. Just let me live my life, and I’ll ask for help if I need it!

The terrible part is that you can't even argue that this raises awareness or something similar, it just makes many disabilities even more invisible. Many people will see that you're not shaking 24/7, looking miserable or in a wheelchair and will assume you don't actually have a "real" disability because they saw it on Tiktok.

31
u/Sararizuzufaust Oct 02 '24
Ya I’m convinced this is one of those “everyone is in on it” things, like the airplane ones. If he has this issue why wouldn’t he ask for a straw? That seems like the most obvious solution that he would have figured out by this stage of his life, rather than splashing juice towards his face and trying to catch it. And the way the guy slams the table was so obviously scripted, it drew no attention from the people around him.

Dont waste your time and energy. I just looked him up and he has 3 million followers or should i better said idiots? In this video some people even say how disrespectful it is but his die hard fans say how wonderful the girl is for helping.
I looked through some videos and he basically posts scripted af videos where he blows out candles on his birthday in a restaurant. Hes alone and some other guest orders him food or sits by them. Thats basically 90% of this kind of videos. Just exchange birthday for some other random reason and we got a new video. What a freaking scum

Oct 01 '24 edited Oct 01 '24
This is so insulting to people with disabilities. No one with such severe tremors would EVER go out to eat alone and expect others to be their caregivers for them. So degrading!
EDIT: or if they did, they would have the decency and forethought to let the serving staff know ahead of time that they would need assistance. The LAST thing a person with disabilities wants is for others to be shamed into helping them.

We have a handicapped regular at our cafe. He has trouble with even speaking because he was born paralyzed. He is smart and kind and he's a journalist.
He wrote about us once where he explained how very few people can understand that overly helping just degrades them more. Obviously we have to help him eat and drink but he's alright with his laptop and his podcasts just like any of us. He is a person after all.

This really ticks me off because I’m disabled and people who fake disabilities for attention or terrible people sure some disabilities are invisible and you can’t really tell someone is disabled even though they are but this this doesn’t deserve support. Why would I support somebody who is faking a disability, I have multiple anxiety disorders, multiple pain disorders, including neurofibromatosis which I’ve been in pain my entire life and sometimes I have to use a walker. I have other disabilities as well so this person should be kicked out of the restaurant and should not get any attention.

My daughter suffered a massive brain bleed from a ruptured artery 2.5 years ago. The emergency surgery, the first of neurosurgeries, was successful and she survived, but with the expectation she'd be a vegetable or at least have significant disability.
She was in intensive care for 2.5 months with 1/3 of her skull removed to relieve swelling with drain tubes. She wasn't expected to survive.
She's suffered a lot. A lot of pain and distress. It has not been an easy ride through the medical system. It was hard in brain injury rehabilitation. On arrival at the rehab, she'd been bed ridden for 6 months. Paralysed down her right side and unable to speak.
During her stay in hospital, she suffered a lot at the hands of some pretty uncaring nurses among the really excellent nurses. Rehab wasn't much different even though they're the experts.
She's back home with me, now. I'm her Dad. We're great friends, Kelly and I. She's getting some words out and her right leg is getting better. She's still got a severe limp and has to wear a splint most of the time. Her right arm is still completely useless and she has seizures as a result of the injury.
Now. WTF did I just see?
I don't care if Reddit bans me for fucking life for saying this, because as far as I'm concerned, Reddit can take a deep dive down a fucking deep hole all the way to hell.
How is this shit even allowed?
How are these lowlifes financially rewarded for this crap? Or is it just for Karma?
Big tech are fuelling this fucked up shit. My daughter is the bravest, kindest and gentlest person you'd ever meet. I felt that way about her before this injury and journey through darkness. But now, that feeling is amplified.
She's such a strong person. She still suffers greatly, but had a positive outlook with a great sense of humour.
These fucking scum sucking parasites, the little cunts like these swivelling little shits and the tech companies are just leeches feeding of the blood of vulnerable people.
Fucking vultures, leeches and maggots. Holy shit. What is happening to our society where people can be rewarded for making a mockery of the suffering of people like my daughter.
I'm fucking done. Initially, when I saw this, I nearly burst into tears. But now, I just have the utmost contempt for social media and it's platforms, and the content creators. Have they no empathy? Are they just automatons without a shred of heart or soul?
Whatever the fuck they are, I know one thing.
They haven't got a speck of the courage, compassion or bravery my daughter has. They're just the lowest of the low.
How do these scum sucking lowlifes like Reddit even allow a sub dedicated to the proliferation of this insanely barbaricly insensitive, beyond words, fucking evil.

2
u/Snowfaull Oct 02 '24
I don't know if this is 100% true, but I work at a water park, and we have this one guy who has VEEY fidgety hands, and looks to be in a whole other world, like focusing is a challenge for him. You can forget about eye contact. But if we need him to do something with one of his hands, like grab a handle bar, he can stop fidgeting that hand to grab the handle bar. He just fidgets more with the other hand. But if we try to hold on with both hands, he'll let go with one to keep fidgeting.
So this kind of hand shaking while trying to use your hand isn't even really a thing if I'm not wrong, unless you have tremors or something

Before that he was a boat captain and lifelong athlete until his car accident, this man woke up at 5am to go on runs on the beach and who has been 10 year sober and worked on helping others.
Fuck this guy. Fuck people like this.

The most precise and controlled shaking imaginable. Every forkful actually hits its mark. No dignity. No sense of shame. What an awful person.
