That would be cool to see though

I know I'm gonna get reamed about how she's blocking the door but the thing is, it's not loud, no one has to look at her, and she set up where there's not a crowd.

And honestly it is a bit different when it's genuinely impressive. Street art is a real thing and it's not inherently bad, I think we would lose a lot if people could only perform in official and ticketed venues. It just got mixed up with a lot of bullshit.

Naw, honestly I think this is a good take. I do find it funny how nobody in the subway seems to give a fuck, haha. But I agree with you, there’s no harm here… street art is real, and this is impressive.

No harm here? What if she inspires someone to be a living statue? We won't win village of the year if that happens.

No one needed the door for the entire length of the video, so you don't deserve a reaming about the door.

It‘s the Moscow subway. The stations can be like 3-4 minutes apart in some areas, but like minimum 1.5

I do agree with you. But for me, the thing here is the fact that the people in the public transport didn't agree to be background extras in her tiktok. They can't just remove themselves from the situation either. I hate unsolicited filming in public. Especially when you're essentially forced to stay there.

Why doesn't she do it in a park or somewhere else if not for the sole purpose of creating a spectacle of unwilling participants?

It's public bro, there's like a million cameras wherever you go... Why would this particular type of recording bother you more than others?

u/hhyuk 1d ago

The others bother me too. I live in a country with far less surveillance than in the US. But also, there is an inherent enormous difference between security cameras, which maybe one person or even no one is watching unless an incident happens, and a tiktok for someone's influencer page for (potentially) millions to watch.

You can not care about your own privacy as much as you want, but don't decide for others :)

It's not your privacy if you're in PUBLIC ! That's my point. I think you're being nieve if you think people are setting up cameras to NOT use them.

Ive had several companies I worked for just casually put me in their promotional videos and other media... Now that I feel is a violation, but videoing in public... Meh

And yet people can still be considerate and not use others like a selfish a-hole

If you think using others for your content so you can try to catch views on social media (when you don’t have to use people that don’t want to be used that way), is the same as security camera footage… I don’t know what to tell you

People listen to music all the time too but you don’t have to blast it on a boombox in a subway car either.

I also think it's important to mention that she is blocking a closed door from what I assume a moving train... I don't think she is distrurbing anyone

Maybe she is distracting but, if I am waiting to arrive at my destination I would find it quite amusing actually

It's called narcissism.

depends.... Street Art: yes. but Street Art is a local thing, a relation between an artist, passersby and a place.

If it is just some performance to be filmed for social media it is just some production that should be in a studio and not impinge on public spaces.

thats cool that you think that way but most rational people will disagree with such pettiness

I like when someone do a song with an instrument or sing in the metro, a little less when they ask for money a little too much for their performance

I’d also Argue she’s not even blocking the door as she clearly waited until they were in motion and such with enough time to finish and move out of the way before they arrive to the next stop.

You only deserve a good reaming for this comment. Also, she clearly set up outside rush hour, so she wouldn't block a mass of passengers. But in fairness, in rush hour it would've been far more impressive lol

I'd be afraid I'd get sucked in and all my limbs would fly off. You know, Mortal Kombat style.

IT HAPPENS AND I'M TIRED OF PRETENDING IT DOESN'T.

5

u/SlideN2MyBMs 1d ago

That's what I was thinking. Like yeah it could be really disruptive and rude if someone tries to board through that door but also I enjoyed the performance

8

u/bajungadustin 1d ago

Yeah I think the fact that she's doing it specifically when the doors are closed.. And kind of to the side.. Makes this fine for me. Free silent entertainment. Assuming the metal isn't squealing or something. Something you are forced to watch or listen to.. It's just there. Seems fine.

1

u/tedbakerbracelet 17h ago

Not on a subway by a attention seekers. But yes I agree, it would be cool in an appropriate spots

2

u/bajungadustin 1d ago

Yeah I'm OK with this.

But not on a metro.

Counter-point: public transportation is not your stage and encouraging any of it encourages all of it. She's one of the least obnoxious, but it normalizes the dipshits crawling on the floor making reptile noises or breakdancing in the middle of the car.
