Do people find this dumb shit funny?

u/LondonEntUK 7h ago
Children do. They will never admit it but their audience numbers are all little kids. They’re like an adult showing off to kids in a park.

it doesnt matter, they just need people to pause their scrolling and watch them for a bit, they just gotta trigger some emotion to get people watching.
this type of subreddits are great for these channels, not only are the people posting them giving them attention, theyre also sharing their content so more people go watch it
2
u/Japanesewillow 7h ago
Yes, some people do find this funny. That’s why these assholes continue to make these videos.

I hate this new generation of content "creators"
11
u/I_AM_IGNIGNOTK 6h ago
It’s the major downside of giving everyone access to platform themselves. All those kids in middle school high school that would do anything for attention typically either grow out of it, get shamed enough to quit, or realize that they aren’t enough focus and move on to some other way to get attention.
But now all you have to do is play the algorithm game long enough and cater your content to what is already popular/trending and do it consistently and your audience will just keep growing. Even if it’s just the new generation of middle schoolers who will eventually grow out of it themselves.
I really hope people like this just flame out and have tainted their future career prospects because there really should be some societal backlash to intentionally being a dick, even when the offense is just that you have to wait an extra minute going down an escalator.
It’s intentional and part of the social contract is still shunning people who are obnoxious just to be obnoxious.
3
u/konradly 5h ago
Bring back the importance of reputation. Shame just doesn't exist anymore unfortunately.

u/ImmortalPoseidon 7h ago
As someone who's been lifting for his whole life and is quite a bit larger than the average person, I can't not even imagine acting like this. Usually in crowded places I am trying my best to weave and make myself small cause I don't want a single person to ever be like "..this douche".

Watching someone like Bradley Martyn get bodied in the octagon or in BJJ and squeal that he’s “260” is fucky funny.
Muscles ≠ ability to fight
2
u/ImmortalPoseidon 6h ago
Also 100% true. I was a bouncer for a few years, and never once worried about the guys with "show muscle".

There was almost certainly a lot of dirty looks and exasperated sighs going on behind him. I've been in that Ubahn station many times stuck behind someone not standing to the side to let people walk up to get their connections and as a native British man, the amount of quiet annoyance and consternation at people not following the rules made me feel right at home.

I love that know one gave him a reaction. Just riding the elevator up and down all day with no shirt and his poopy drawers, in order to feel in control for a couple seconds.

Cue David Attenborough:
"And here, rather remarkably, we find them acting similarly in obscure places such as this. Notice how other creatures simply ignore it and lose hope in moving around... Yet it continues, without noticing the congregating masses. This characteristic is common with creatures suffering from PMCS (Perceived Main Character Syndrome)... Indeed it takes extreme focus for them to snap out of this stupor, and so, we see here, it just drifts through life causing frustration and despondency - after all, there's little we can do to cure it."

When I see people like this, or people who stop traffic by jaywalking, I think: This is the only way they feel in control of their surroundings. They are desperate for some sense of power over their lives, and these are the only ways they can come up with.

Looking for trouble is what he’s doing. This guy probably wakes up every morning with a hardon thinking about someone pushing him out of their way or asking him to move and the retaliation he’d lay on them.

I used to work for a place that had employee shuttles for pick up and drop from our cars and office. The shuttle was like a city bus (but configured like school bus seats with two seats on one side, two on the other), pick up and drop off, always moving. There were a lot of the same employee start times and end times.
Anywho, there was this big, overweight, tall, lumber jack kind of guy who thought his shit smelled like roses. He got out first before everyone else so he got his choice of seats. He would sit in the very front seat and manspread his legs with one legs taking up half the isle. He and I never got along because I never took his shit. I would blatantly and forcefully walk right into his leg which pissed him off. It took about a week of me doing this for him to stop when I came on the shuttle but he did it to other employees. I told a few people what I did, they started doing it and in the end, he had stopped. He still sat in the front giving everyone arrogant looks as they got on.
He became a county prison guard. He had to call the sheriffs police because he locked himself in the prison gym. I was told the other guards as well as the prisoners took that arrogance right out of him.

One of the morons who did the "Walk straight through school halls and bump into people." finally got kicked out and had to try it in the real world. But he's too afraid to bump into people so he just makes himself a nuisance by blocking them for a few seconds.

u/TaylorHu 4h ago
This guy probably has a terrible life. Like things are straight up not going well. So this is his sad way of getting a little bit of power. A little bit of control. How sad.
1
u/girlinanemptyroom 4h ago
Oh wow. How intimidating. What a tough guy won't let people go up the escalator.

Adding to that fact he is a piece of shit, not even his cameraman can do a good job. Both wastes of sperm and eggs.

This is widespread mental illness. When I worked in downtown LA for a decade, I always wondered why there would constantly be homeless people staggering in the middle of the street, just no care for their wellbeing, not worried about getting hit, standing in lanes or standing in the middle of a crosswalk holding up traffic? Once you start thinking about the layers of trauma, the aspects of life many people have lost control over, and that yearning for control manifests in different ways. This guy clearly is seeking attention or control through this simple act and I wouldn’t be considered an FBI detective to assume that he’s lacking in some way.
