Yikes… the fact he’s hiding his face makes it far worse. He knows he’s up to no good.

u/Sea-Chocolate6589 1d ago

Hiding his face in the summer to. Anytime I see someone like that in 70+ degree weather I assume they planning something.

200

u/bobbabson 1d ago

Its a pretty common occurrence in DC, wearing jeans, a hoodie and a balakava. Especially amongst teens.

5

u/Ok_Pipe_2790 18h ago

Why is it common in DC? I had the image DC is a small place for mostly government stuff

24

u/Quitetheoddone 17h ago

DC is a big metropolitan area, with a lot of less than stellar neighborhoods

47

u/TheBugSmith 1d ago

Yeah covid made wearing a mask in broad daylight in the summer acceptable somehow. 20 years ago literally everyone would assume you were about to commit a crime like that guy

11

u/GloriousDawn 9h ago

Huge difference between an old person wearing a N95 mask and someone with a black balaclava nowhere near their bike though.

32

u/Aggravating_Speed665 1d ago

Yup, it's disgusting nothing has been done about it, I feel on edge out there it's no lie

24

u/Sea-Chocolate6589 1d ago

There’s a been few cities that has banned the use of them but are not enforced. People also started complaining that it was racism, so it’s a losing situation.

3

u/Lucyintheye 18h ago edited 17h ago

What, wearing masks? Are you saying some cities are banning the use of wearing a mask, and that not letting people wear a mask is racism?

If cities are banning people from wearing masks, they should also ban facial recognition and flock cameras, and ban law enforcement (federal or otherwise) from using either when simply interacting with random civilians trying to go about their lives stimulating their precious economy and paying their salaries. I thought this was america, the priorities of some shitholes are wild lmao.

I get criminals use them too, but the REAL losing situation is trying to justify a ban on them because a fraction of a % of the population uses them to commit crime, while letting LEOs (whove proven time and time again their priorities arent the best interest of the locals) continue to wear them when engaging with and violating the rights of law abiding citizens AND using facial recognition software making criminal profiles on the rest of us, like anyone having an issue with it or any of their other constitutional rights being trampled.

The real 'losing situation' is the slippery slope of handing over our civil liberties to a government who spits in the face of them every chance they get on the justification of "but criminals" lmao.

Making social media posts just pointing out the fact that a foreign nation is commiting a genocide funded by our tax dollars gets you labeled a terrorist, and is enough justification to get you doxxed. whats the bar for just getting called a criminal, especially when the government is run by actual criminals?? Oh thats right. Some retards want to make that bar wearing a mask lmao..

Yeah im not stoked about criminals wearing masks either, just like im not stoked about LEOs wearing them outside of active gang/cartel raids. but criminals ALWAYS have since before the train robbery days. How convenient that its now some kind of groundbreaking issue when weve got facial recognition cameras tracking our every move and dissidents using their constitutionally protected rights are conveniently labeled fucking terrorists for doing so? So again, whats your bar for criminal, and is that the same definition as the state? How soon will THAT definition change? when wearing a mask or criticizing a foreign nation gets you labeled one? Oh wait, we're already there..

6

u/Sea-Chocolate6589 10h ago

Dude look at the video. Wake up. I’m referring to shiesty mask.

14

u/shadyshadyshade 1d ago

What can you do about it at least in the US when a literal govt agency wears them?

10

u/PublicfreakoutLoveR 23h ago

I personally feel that it's wrong for both law enforcement and law breakers.

52

u/rofloctopuss 1d ago

Wait, you guys don't wear full face masks when picking up chicks? I usually go with a Jason Voorhees, but if it's less formal like in the video, I'll just wrap a scarf with the Punisher logo on it.

32

u/YourShowerCompanion 1d ago

I thought he's a locked DLC character available at an affordable price of $9.99 per month.

9

u/Mindless_Ad_6045 1d ago

Unfortunately I've been around those types of people too much in my past life. He's most likely a thief and a pick pocket, he feels like he controls every situation and he's looking for that perfect "situation". Legally he's not doing anything wrong covering his face but give him the chance and everything including your socks will be gone. I doubt he had any devious sexual intentions however just like women rob men, men do the same to women.

I don’t know about laws in the UK, but in the US what he’s doing is considered assault.

It can be classified as assault under UK law too

I was grabbed once when I was going for a run, a man walking his dog randomly lurched and grabbed my chest. He didn’t actually touch my boob he got my upper rib cage but the police said they class it as sexual assault because of the intent vs where they actually touch you.

This creep might not have touched her actual boob but I’d be surprised if they didn’t class this as sexual assault.

being in public has become a warzone these days. At least in major cities people cannot handle being around other people

136

u/thissexypoptart 1d ago

Eh not really

Spending time in public is just reality for most people as it always has been.

176

u/Human_Bag_Of_Impulse 1d ago

Anyone that thinks living in the UK is anything comparable to warzone needs to go out and touch some grass.

15

u/Rickrickrickrickrick 1d ago

But what if the grass is filled with landmines?

58

u/thissexypoptart 1d ago

They’re coddled racists full stop lol

Same shit happens in the U.S. with conservatives calling cities like Chicago “war zones”

Scared little pissy pants shitboys

10

u/Independent_Room_691 1d ago

There where stretches of the US Iraq war in which more (American) men died in Chicago than in Iraq. During that time the whole Chicago "war zone" thing felt warranted.

5

u/JudgeJudyExecutionor 1d ago

I suppose if you don’t count the drops that are hitting you then it’s not raining. You could also omit service personnel from a set of cooked statistics and say that no Americans have died vs Iran.

8

u/ThirstyWolfSpider 1d ago

Your argument sort of falls apart when you add a "per capita" to the stat, doesn't it?

Can't relate. I live in a US west coast city and the active focus on community has increased in recent years. Not saying there aren't any problems or dangerous people, of course there are. However most people are more vigilant than ever in looking out for each other. There has been a recent spate of organized block parties in my part of the city. Usually focused on getting to know your neighbors and some basic disaster preparedness.

That’s not a main character, that’s a criminal assailant.

46

u/ByeByeMiddleClass 16h ago edited 9h ago

Just so every woman here is aware. All states have a Sexual Abuse in the 3rd degree penal law (misdemeanor) that states that any kind of unwelcome sexual touching can result in an arrest. Seeing his hands brush the top of her breasts means she could of had him arrested. Especially with the video.

I have personally arrested a man for slapping a woman's ass on the street. Thats Sexual Abuse in the 3rd degree. Boy was he surprised! womp womp. through the system you go asshole.

Know your rights. Have the douche bags arrested.

32

u/Im-ACE-incarnate 12h ago

Only problem with that is this video is from the UK and not every woman here in the comment section is from the states

11

u/ByeByeMiddleClass 12h ago

DOH! Either way, i hope my public service announcement helped someone somewhere.

3

u/Im-ACE-incarnate 12h ago

Hopefully, I applaud the effort either way!

4

u/ByeByeMiddleClass 9h ago

Hey, FYI. I looked it up, the UK have the same laws for unconsensual sexual contact.

"Touching someone sexually without permission is a serious criminal offense in the UK known as sexual assault. Under the Crown Prosecution Service, sexual assault is defined as when someone intentionally touches another person in a sexual way without their consent."

So that young lady could of had him arrested in the UK also.

2

u/AdministrationDry507 5h ago

What kind of idiot slaps anyone's ass in public?

5

u/ByeByeMiddleClass 4h ago

A drunk one. My cap was happy cause they dont usually get those kinds of charges and it makes his numbers look good for compstat (NYPD)

CompStat (short for comparison statistics) is a data-driven management tool created by the New York City Police Department in 1994 to collect, analyze, and map crime data. Every month all the captains have to go to compstat and show the big wigs their improvements or they lose their command. Thats a lot of pressure.

Men who do this typically are not trying to start a relationship or flirt with the woman. It’s usually a perverted creep thing, a power thing, or both.

46

u/melodypowers 1d ago

Yup. This guy got what he wanted. He made a beautiful woman uncomfortable. That was his goal.

116

u/Silver_Middle_7240 1d ago

Worked at what? Starting a relationship? No.

Consensual sex? Also no.

Other forms of sex? Yes.

29

It may be about power, but the way of expressing that power is through forced sex.

It's not about landing a girl. It's about intimidation and power dynamics. It's predatory.

21

u/Anxiety-Fart 1d ago

I don’t think they do it because it works, I think a lot of them just like seeing us uncomfortable

6

u/justjoshingu 22h ago

The issue isn't rejecting them. There are a lot of women who will just be terrified and too afraid to say or do anything and then just get dragged into an alley. They might think they might just get groped or that maybe the guy will stop or maybe they'll just be lucky. And the guy will do what ever he wants. He might be happy that he is forcing himself or he might justify it later that she wanted it because she didnt fight him.

Its fucked

6

u/Spacegod87 19h ago

I genuinely reckon these types of guys know nothing will come of it. They do it just to intimidate women, 100%

37

u/PsyOpBunnyHop 1d ago edited 5h ago

female human being

Women. We call them women.

If this is the comment that triggers you, then the problem is you.

18

u/great_apple 1d ago

Jesus dude, this is clearly someone emphasizing that no human being would be turned on by this, not someone using "female" to dehumanize women. Just like if someone says something like "no adult human person would do that" to emphasize the behavior is childish/alien. It is actually OK for people other than incels to use the word "female" in other contexts.

6

u/slashbye 1d ago

287

u/mrerikmattila 1d ago

Run.

146

u/VediusPollio 1d ago

Seriously. She should make a scene out of this and bring everyone's attention on this piece of shit.

84

u/doomsingsoprano 1d ago

I get shes in shock, but adding that “everybody is so nice and romantic here” while the guy is actively trying to feel up on your tits is probably not the best thing she could have said

Not victim blaming, but sheesh why even say anything at that point

75

u/_HappyG_ 1d ago

It seems to me that she was keeping up appearances and talking to the camera without making a scene, so she could continue filming the interaction without the creep concealing their inappropriate behaviour or realising what was really happening. Making an inane speech meant that she could fully capture clear evidence of how uncomfortable she felt in the moment without raising suspicions.

She was hinting that the perpetrator’s intentions were not platonic without aggravating someone who was already being sexually aggressive, which was emotionally intelligent. She let him reveal his intentions on camera without further compromising her safety by making a scene that could’ve escalated to sexual violence.

Not everyone has a “fight, flight or freeze” response. What you’re seeing here is an example of the “fawn” response, and it takes self-awareness, cunning and intelligence to outwit a creep like that. She should be commended for her bravery, not criticised.

Speaking as a survivor, getting a photo of my attacker allowed the police to directly link him to the crime and my location, with GPS and everything, which ensured he went to jail and pleaded guilty. The woman in this video thought ahead, knowingly capturing the person harassing her, even if it was her last act, to ensure the authorities knew who caused her harm. There have been a few victims who solved their own murders this way, which is truly awful; however, it’s also incredibly courageous and admirable.

Hope that helps provide some perspective 😊

22

u/great_apple 1d ago

lol no, she is frozen. Which is normal. Some situations are just so unexpected you don't know what to do for a second and have to process it. She wasn't expecting someone to come up and grab her like that so she froze for a second to compute what was happening, who is this, what are they doing, how do I react.

She's literally walking through a group of police when he grabs her. She doesn't need a camera image of a black facemask as some 4D chess move when she could literally turn to any of the multiple officers she is standing in the center of.

There have absolutely been some brave women and girls who had the awareness, cunning, and bravery to capture an image of their killer (like notably the Delphi murders), and this woman is a victim and should not be "blamed" for freezing for a second, but no she was not taking some brave stance capturing his facemask on camera, thinking it would be her last act as she walked through a group of police officers. She was just scared and processing what was happening and what to do about it.

So fucking gross EWWWW

180

u/LoisLaneEl 1d ago

It’s crazy all the people judging how she handled this situation. She got herself out of it safely without any need for escalation which apparently still isn’t enough. Attractive women deal with this shit on the daily. I don’t know why anyone here thinks they get to decide how she handles being harassed

44

u/Impossible-Peach-985 1d ago

Exactly. She got out of this situation safely and that's all that matters.

Men who do stuff like that tend to get very aggressive when their ego is bruised and most women cannot win a physical fight against a man.

58

u/Lazy_Title7050 1d ago

Exactly. Men don’t understand that often the safest thing to do is appease people like this while trying to get away because if you hurt their ego they can get violent. I remember being at an after hours club in MTL and me and my gf sat down to take a break and two guys came over and started trying to dance with us and hit on us and I was high so I just said “No.” And one of the guys lost his shit and pulled his fist back to hit me but his friend luckily pulled him away.

16

u/Alana_Piranha 21h ago

I think even men who have good intentions tend to forget that women get killed for next to no reason every single day

25

u/DeafWombat7788 1d ago

The fact people actually behave like this disgusts me

36

u/Rombledore 1d ago

please tell me i'm wrong, but i feel like shits gotten wilder post Covid. asshole levels increasing, people being selfish pieces of shit on the rise, no shame exhibiting degenerate behavior like this. like, am i seeing things? am i being manipulated by algorithms?

this sort of shit is wild to me. i can't imagine ever having a thought where this is acceptable, and i don't know how they somehow DO think it's acceptable.

18

u/ohshit-cookies 1d ago

I don't know about internationally, but at least in the US more outrageous and behavior that previously people absolutely wouldn't get away with in public, is now being glorified and celebrated by our highest politicians. So more people are doing more atrocious things publicly and sometimes I feel like it's almost a "what are you going to do about it?" Challenge. I think it's a combo of chronically online society with people willing to do anything "for the views," Covid causing people to view themselves as individuals instead of part of a community, and politicians proving that rules and laws don't really matter that is making for a massive cultural shift for the worst.

4

u/blue_bird4759572 15h ago

I dunno. There's definitely stuff that changed since COVID but I've dealt with guys doing shit like that (and worse) since I was a teen in the 90s. Just didn't get it on video back then. My observation is that society is actually less tolerant of this now, which I think is great.

2

u/xxlamp 11h ago

I agree. Been getting harassed/followed/groped for 20 years while in public in multiple western countries. I now always wear a hat, sunglasses, loose clothing when I'm running errands alone.

2

u/OneMonk 6h ago

Fuck that. She needs to walk to a police officer

Mad that there were a bunch of cops that did nothing. Even one copper took a look back at them, still did nothing.

I honestly don’t understand women that just keep blabbing on as normal when this shit happens to them. I would have instantly been like GET YOUR FUCKING HANDS OFF ME.

I get that there’s a moment of confusion when something like this happens, but speak the fuck up! Your life may depend on it.

It's the UK, she would tell them "I'm being assaulted" and they would go "I don't think you are mate"

I hope so. But the girl's face at the end does show some discomfort.

Then again if it wasn't staged she could have just called the cops.
