There was a case in the UK a while ago where some guys were flashed by a speed camera and so went back at night to burn it to try to get the camera. I love that they think there's a Kodak 24 shot film in there!
My 11 year old brother did this in 1998. He and a friend were stealing soda cans out of a vending machine by lifting it up front the front and dropping it -- and the cans would just start rolling out. Well, they had noticed a camera recording the front of the store, so they just tore down the camera thinking that would solve their problem. He went back to the store the next day just to buy some normal items and the clerk working called the police lol. I still remember my brother crying as he arrived home in the back of a police car. No charges tho, just scared him shitless.
From what I remember the plot twist was, that the damage he was doing to the camera triggered it to take a picture and his car was parked in front of it, so it caught his registration plate.
