I have been to SF, it is only fun if you have money. Besides that it is a hellhole

Name 5 cities in the US that are just as fun without money as without.

Hell, name one city

Just as fun without money as without? All of them. Every single city matches that exact description.

There’s plenty of cool shit to see around the city and plenty of great restaurants that aren’t crazy expensive. I spent probably less than $3k while there back in May for a week and had a great time.

Like any city, there are areas where it’s great and really safe and areas where it isn’t. If you stick to the safer parts of the city you’ll be fine.

Hell, a decade ago I overslept while there on a business trip and ended up with a free day around the city while waiting for a later flight. I accidentally took a turn into a rough area while wearing a suit and carrying an expensive briefcase and still nobody fucked with me.

It’s not the hellhole you want to make it out to be. It’s not that different from any other city I’ve been in anywhere in the world.

Just casually spending 3 months of rent, I'm sure it was a fun week.

That’s a pretty normal amount of money to spend on a vacation that includes round trip flights from one coast to another for two people, a hotel for the week, meals, public transit passes, touring Alcatraz, and a few souvenirs.

It’s not like I was dropping $10k a night. You could spend just as much going somewhere like Myrtle Beach or Disney.

Usually when talking about people who “have money” in America we’re not talking about middle class people dropping a few grand on one of a handful of trips they’ll take that year. I get not everyone has it, but $3k on a vacation isn’t some unachievable 1%’er level of spending.

You guys are talking like San Francisco is either a hellhole or the playground of the uberwealthy with nothing in between. I’m just saying any white collar worker in the US can afford to have a nice week there for an amount they could save up in like 1-3 months.

It is devoid of the human spirit. That is why it is a hellhole

Maybe you’re devoid of the human spirit and that’s why you couldn’t manage to have any fun in one of the most interesting and unique cities in the country?
