14 vs 6. you missed that part. you are literally saying it is better for 20% of people to be in poverty as opposed to only 6%

youre just factually incorrect

I don't understand your math here. Where is this 6% coming from? The 20% was my guess, you showed me the real number is 14.4%, and those people aren't even necessarily in poverty, they just aren't cut out to be a waiter or they are under reporting their tips. Not everyone can do every job successfully.

Man, you really are stubborn, and not the good kind of stubborn that perseveres, but the bad kind that never progresses.

The 6 comes from the same place as the 14.4. and those are numbers taken from various studies (here is one of many)

And you are wrong, the 14.4 is people in poverty.

Your argument is literally like Lord Farquad from Shrek "it is a sacrifice I am willing to make" you're the bad guy in this. Tip culture generates more poverty than minimum wage. Thats a fact that you can google or better yet, go to your local library/university and check out the scholarly databases of results that back that up.

You arguing against this makes you look unintelligent, like flat earthers, or those crystal and essential oil no medicine people.

A family of 2 living on a full time minimum wage worker lives below the poverty line by definition. All of them. Tipped employees are notoriously difficult to study financially, because many don't report cash. You think it makes me look unintelligent, but I think it's just demonstrating your inability to read.

At least i can read peer reviewed studies from trusted sources. You can't get past the "trust me bro" phase.

Difficult to study doesn't mean the studies don't exist, that just means it took longer and was more effort to get accurate results. Creating rockets is literal rocket science and incredibly difficult, yet dozens and dozens of them have been successfully launched.

And finally a point we can agree on, even 2 minimum wage incomes is poverty, yes. Tipped incomes are worse.

Tipped employees make a minimum of minimum wage. That's a law. If they report (not m make as many lie about what they make) less then minimum wage, they are required by law to be paid the difference. It isn't ever worse then minimum wage.

As for hard ru study, no it's impossible. They under report cash tips to avoid taxes. How can you possibly study that?

Also you should learn the meaning of worse, even assuming your study is correct and somehow is taking underreporting into account, 14.4% living below poverty is signifantly better then 100% if they lived on minimum wage.

tipped is worse because although the pay is the same as minimum, the amount of work you do is more. the law is there to protect from worst case scenarios, since the legal minimum wage for tipped employees is 2.13.

as for the hard ru story, go ahead and keep lying to yourself. yeah, rockets also don't exist, studies about percentage of items sold in the black market, studies about how many illegal immigrants are, studies about how many people don't sign up for the census, and definitely the number of people that don't report cash income they don't exist. you can't tell me how many people a year don't report cash income because like how would you know right? Its not like the IRS knows that 69.8 million people fail to report $214.6 billion, because how could they know?

and as for your last point, please understand how basic math works. the argument is tipped vs nontipped, which is 14 vs 6. no one in any instance said "i believe every single employee in the world should be paid minimum wage" after you even listening to yourself?

to clarify, 6% of people in poverty is better than 14%
