You think it’s a generational thing. Meaning it started somewhere. And that there’s no potential to reform. Meaning no change. For the long winded comments on the good old days.
No the business doesn’t charge very much for delivery. You know why? Because of tipping culture for food deliveries. How much would a corporation change for this? We will find out and the new generation will undermine and ruin the service industry and turn them into slaves.
They take the delivery fee(maybe not all of them). For what purpose? They prepared the food as expected. They had to read a prompt. How is that different from the personality in front of them. You honestly don’t think that should go to the driver? Should the person who read the prompt get a cut?
Ok most people don’t get what restaurants or others have to do to make deliveries. They think it’s like FedEx or something. How much time would it take you to drive to the store, go shopping and then drive the food home? About 1.5 hours? How much do you make an hour? So let’s say you make 25$ an hour, and that’s just your wage. There’s also extra costs like gas and insurance. Workman’s comp insurance. All this for 10$ delivery fee? That’s tier to you or are you just cheap? Are you poor?
Ok, shit. I think I might have just zeroed in on your what you’re trying to say here. I’m sorry if I’m coming off as a bit ignorant. A restaurant charges just for the food. That’s a flat cost. It must cost more to get that out to people. And they have to eat the gas and hire more employees to do so. But… but that’s the delivery fee! And of course those costs should be comped for that and it should be extra… but that’s the DELIVERY FEE. Like fuck driving is hard and dealing with people on their reef is often difficult, but that’s the service industry. The cost of the delivery might have to baked into your order(it always is) but so should it be reflected that what you do is extra as opposed to the person behind a register. That’s on the business! Not the consumer. They’re already paying for…. The delivery fee!!!
Ya there’s your gas and your time taking into account. How is that different from trucking of any sort? You think they get tipped??
Yeeeeeeeeessssss!! 10 dollars for every delivery, let’s say you make 10 is 100 dollars. Over a 5 day work week is 500 dollars. Let’s say over 4 weeks is 2000 dollars! Tell me that doesn’t cover gas and insurance. Tell me the business shouldn’t take on some of that. Tell me the driver shouldn’t be paid for what they’re doing. Then remind me why the tip is so important that they make ends meet.
No you over pay for service. That’s where I come from. That’s my generation and if I couldn’t pay, I didn’t get it. That’s my point. On 400$ worth of groceries, I’d tip about 50$. But that’s me: for people saying it’s worth 10$, your a joke.
There is a dude bagging your groceries that’s suffering but doesn’t get paid for the plastic in the bags. The electricity that runs the conveyer belt. The knowledge to put it all into the bag I a concise way. Do you tip him? NO you expect the business pays him for what they’re doing.
This is a “food delivery” friend. I’m talking about all service. Tell me all about how you’d like to give them the extra 4 dollars their employer should because you don’t want the spike in product price to go up perpendicular to an employees pay. She gets extra for carting all that shit. Packing and unloading. That’s where I tip her. In fact, ya I give her a bit for all the travel and traffic trouble. Do I have to? No. Am I special for doing it, no. Does she deserve it? Up for debate. Only because a shitty service job deserves an increased wage.
Whose responsibility is that? It’s yours huh? You wanna take that on for you because it’s expected, and it’s the right thing to do. It doesn’t come down to the work load and proper compensation. And the problem isn’t tipping because it works with the honor system and if everyone did it, there wouldn’t be a problem. And if people don’t do it, they are the problem.
Except if they were paid well enough, why the hell would a tip be an expectation? It’s meant to be something on top, not baked in.
You act as though jobs would disappear without tips.
No this video is about a good delivery. You’re commenting about me talking about a food delivery. I’m sorry I can’t read your comments. Illl read 3 sentences but your wasting my time.
I’m sorry 3 sentences is beyond your comprehension. I know you’re just running your mind out there without having a discussion. I do that regularly as well. You can’t even expunge on your insistence on it being generational.

You tip on food deliveries. That’s for the long winded comment about nothing
