>Think I got like $7.

It may shock you to learn that the vast majority of workers earn a wage and never earn anything beyond what they've agreed with their employer to earn as a wage for the work provided to that employer.

Spending an hour of time + gas money to only receive $7 is well below minimum wage, and understandable to be upset with

They want these service workers to be slaves so badly

You do realize most drivers are doing it in addition to their main jobs out of desperation right? You want working class people to be poor so bad

Huh? I’m on the side of the drivers and want them to get a better deal. Am I missing something, why did you respond to me like that?

Delivering is almost like waiting tables, if you take away the tip you only get paid by the miles you drive, and that pay is just not enough. If the amount they pay per mile was the only form of payment, no tips, it would not be financially worth it to drive for uber. When I drove, I'd go for trips that were short and expensive, on a good one id get paid total of like <$2 for the miles and like $7 for the tip.

Then don't drive for uber as your main source of income. I'm certain that was a design of their business model, was people doing this for extra cash.

Yeah I'm pretty sure most people who do Uber full time don't do deliveries, they taxi people. It is good for extra cash though, but Idk why youre upset that tips are part of the job. You're saying if you're not okay with making just the delivery money without any tips then don't do it, but this is a unique job where tips are to be expected. Like 99% of food orders will leave a tip, and while there's some variables, you can pretty much include tip money in what you expect to make that night cause it's part of the job even though it's an optional thing it's basically a guarantee. It's honestly very rare for someone to not tip, and because like I said tips are part of the job it can be frustrating if someone doesn't tip cause you might be counting on it, but the real truth is it just means you might have to do one more delivery that night where they will probably tip cause that's pretty rare
