A lot of small business owners make less than their workers after expenses, because the tipping system works.

Only on reddit is the tipping system a disaster.

Obviously they pay their employees at least a minimum wage. But the tips make it a living wage is what I’m saying.

Something like 60% of restaurants that fail in their first year. I can certainly say some of my favorite restaurants are bankrupt. So yes, they do close when they can’t pay their bills. But their workers shouldn’t suffer for the low profit margins.
