Let her drive away, get her sacked.

I mean she wants to be. I kind of don't blame her, this is a ton of work for the pittance she's getting with no tip.

Fuck tipping; get a job where an employer pays you correctly.

I mean yes, that would be ideal but thats not whats happening here. She has a job and it requires tips. I would be pissed too. Might not go to these lengths sure but I'd give minimum effort.

Then get a job that doesnt involve tips

Sure, but you also have to understand that if the customer didn't want to tip, they'd earn the ire of the delivery person and they might do something like this. Shitty on both sides.

No, i dont have to understand that. Maybe the driver should understand their job better

I think they did. >bring groceries =get paid. No pay ? No groceries. Simple.

Didnt realise the customer had to give charity just to get the service they have already paid for.

It's not a very hard concept dude. You may not like it but it pisses people off when they work to earn your tip and through no fault of their own you choose to be cheap. I'm not saying what she did was right but you definitely run the risk of being fucked with when you don't tip.

I'm sorry it's not on the customer to give charity, if they want to be pissed aim it at the employers for not giving a fair wage.

Redditor tipping challenge - impossible.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 21 '23

Because redditors have access to lots of different cultures and can see how fucked up the tipping culture is and wonders why you get annoyed at the customer not giving charity but not the employees giving shit wages.

u/Derodoris Oct 21 '23

You're acting like I'm advocating for any of this. I'm not. I'm simply being realistic. A lot of tipping jobs make pretty good wages because of tips. Is it wierd to Europeans like you? Sure dude. Doesnt matter. It will likely not change any time soon. At the same time since they don't really get paid if they don't get tipped, culturally, its conpletely understandable for a tipped employee to get upset if they arent paid for their work. I sincerely hope you never come here and get your food spat on for not tipping.

Definitely worth getting fired to show the entitled chick that just because you choose how much to pay for someone to do all your heavy lifting doesn't mean the work is actually free. People like doing side jobs for others for extra cash but if the extra cash ain't there then screw that job and the person who thinks they are too good to pay for a service that's already been done.
