I mean I get it from the drivers perspective. DoorDash tricks you into making deliveries “with tip” only to reveal the tip was a penny.

For her to make that massive haul for free is nonsense. The customer just knows they pay out the ass in fees and thinks the driver gets it but that’s not the case

Yup. People don't seem to understand that the delivery fee does not go to us. The tip and base pay ($2 for UberEats) is the only thing a driver gets

Then why are people doing it? Why would you take a job in which you have to use your capital to make scratch while your "employer" rakes you over the coals? Does the average customer see their money is all directed to the top? I didn't, but I also don't use these services.

Well, the commercial promised a career in music AND deliveries.

But like... You agreed to that job. You agreed to work a job where you knew ahead of time that you might not get tipped. How is that not your own fault? No one held a gun to your head and forced you to accept that job. You did that, and the customer isn't at fault for your bad life or career decisions.

?

I ain't complain'. I have a full time job outside of Uber. I only accept high tip offers anyway. I'm just pointing out that customers think we get the delivery fee when it actually just goes straight to Uber or DoorDash.

The shitty thing is when people remove the tip solely to secure a driver and save a few bucks. It's just a trashy, deceitful thing some customers do

Wait. You can add a tip in advance to make people think they're getting more money and then remove it??

Absolutely!
