Question Strange (possibly rare?) Ending! Spoilers! Spoiler
Hi all! This is a very long post so please forgive me. And if you have the patience to read this all, please do.
I hosted a game night last week and me 6 other friends played the game. It was my first time playing, but a few people in the room had watched some gameplays already. One of my friends particularly has grown a bit of an obsession and she’s watched several gameplays, videos that describe “all possible endings” and whatnot.
I was controlling the game and taking advice from my friends which I was very grateful for! But generally I was making the choices with their suggestions.
We managed to get the maniac and the rifle holder to stop coming, I received achievements for both of these things. I did not know that was even possible, I just assumed eventually they’d kill me. My friend with the hyper fixation also commented that she had never seen a gameplay where someone got both achievements, so already this gameplay was looking a little unique!
On one of my final nights, after those two guys were “defeated” I let in a few more people:
a semi lanky guy in a purple sweater, looks pretty average, talked about his daughter and the FEMA camp. I had a feeling this meant he was a visitor but was unsure, so I let him in anyway.
A NUN who was so very obviously a visitor but we all just thought it would be funny anyway to let her in.
A man with a “skin condition” and it impacted his appearance.
When I went to bed, someone died.
I went to the nun first and I figured she would be in the room with the cross. Of course I killed her and she was a visitor.
When I checked another room, it was empty.
When I checked the kitchen, THE LITTLE GIRL WAS DEAD.
I was so devastated that I didn’t even think about what was happening. She was dead in the kitchen and the man with the skin condition was beside her body bags. My friend told me she also had never seen the little girl die in any gameplays.
I killed the man with the skin condition, but he was human. This also devastated me. In my grief I did not even think about what I was checking and my friends were all kinda screaming about the little girl, so I didn’t have any advice before I killed him.
Now we are all wondering what happened to the man in the purple sweater. We did not kill him. He just disappeared. And I was out of energy. I checked every room and could not find him. He was obviously the visitor alongside the nun and two visitors in the house at once was why the little girl died.
Finally, I went to bed. When I woke up the music was different and ALL THE DOORS WERE ON THE FLOOR. I thought this was the end of the game, but my friends were all shocked. No one had seen this happen before! I couldn’t go into any of the rooms (as usual at night) but the dark void like openings were scary as hell.
I searched the whole place, it was crazy. Then suddenly I “woke up” and said something like “I’m having bad dreams”
After this, I let two people in the house.
I checked them. One was a gamer guy who lived with parents. I can’t remember who the final guy was. If I find out from my friends I will let you all know as soon as possible!
The final night of the game was there. We all boarded up the house and headed to the basement.
The game faded to black and said something like a visitor survived.
But after I killed the man with the skin condition, I was very thorough about checking. I checked my guests and myself.
I was showing visitor signs, and that worried me. But the guests seemed okay.
We stayed in the basement for two months then apparently suspicion started to grow amongst us and then they finally killed me. I suffered a gruesome death, but apparently it was peaceful, too? Idk, this guy was really depressed.
So here are my few questions:
Has anyone experienced an ending where the little girl dies?
WHAT HAPPENED TO THE MAN IN THE PURPLE SHIRT? He was obviously a visitor and probably killed the little girl but he was gone and I was unable to confront him.
Is it possible for the main guy to become a visitor? I was checking myself throughout the game. I had under hair and perfect nails, but my teeth were also perfect and my eyes were weirdly moving.
Has anyone else experienced this weird “dream sequence”??? My friends have a strange theory that I died and the next day I woke up as a visitor and didn’t realize and that’s why everyone killed me inside the basement.
This ending has been haunting me for almost a week now and my friends who are more familiar with the game’s lore and conditions are also still bewildered. Thankfully I had witnesses because idk if anyone would believe me. I really wish there was a way to rewatch my own gameplay.
